Shah’s Halal Food — Restaurant in Evansville

I was at Shahs today with my two young nephews we ordered 3 fallafel gyros I paid and was about to go to my way. One of the employees asked where Im from. One of the other employees told him I was arabic. I corrected him and told him im from Isreal, he started to speak bad and curse me in Arabic. I know arabic and understood what he saying. I asked him if its a problem that I came to eat their. He kept glaring and giving me bad looks and keep talking in arabic to the other guy. He was ready to fight so I told him to smile and all is good with me. I dont care about the politics of the Middle East I also told him if he dont want i dont have to come back and eat is in the establishment. He was very mad and rude, I asked for a refund which thr other guy did for me. As a local resident with many muslim/arabic friends I was completly shocked and appalled by the service and racisim I recieved. I will be filing complaits and will never recommended the...

My partner and I had Shahs for the first time when looking for Halal options in Evansville. I ordered the Kofta Kebob platter and he ordered the lamb gyro. We added falafel and baklava. Everything was fantastic. Special highlight to the baklava assorted option. It was lovely. Prices were considerably fair in comparison to other Mediterranean, especially Halal, in the city. Service was perfect. The gentleman taking our order was kind, patient, and answered any questions we had with grace. We will definitely be back again soon.

I had the chicken and rice platter on my first visit - it won't be my last! I had just about everything on my platter except for hot peppers or hot sauce - just the white sauce. Plenty of beans (both black beans and chickpeas) and lots of onions and peppers and cucumber/tomato salad. I always mix together to eat--what a treat! So much flavor, mild heat. Quality control is top notch, the service was very friendly and efficient. I will be back to work my way through the menu.
