One-Star Review for Bonefish Grill – Marlton, NJ

Mother’s Day should have been memorable—for the right reasons. We were looking forward to a special celebration, and although we didn’t have a reservation, we were hopeful and excited to be seated somewhere that could accommodate us. After missing brunch at Redstone, we chose Bonefish Grill, especially since we have a ministry connection with the brand and have supported them in the past.

Upon arrival, the greeting was lukewarm at best—lacking both energy and genuine hospitality. Still, I remained optimistic and focused on celebrating with my mom. We were seated, and thankfully, our server Tyler was a standout. He was professional, knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to help us find the perfect wine pairing—a sweet moscato for my mom and a bold, dry merlot for me. Tyler was the highlight of the visit and handled everything with grace.

We ordered the Bourbon Glazed Salmon for my mom and Parker’s Margarita Sea Bass for myself. We eagerly awaited our entrees, and when the plates arrived, they looked promising—but that’s where the experience took a drastic turn.

To our dismay, the fish was visibly raw and cold on the inside. The odor confirmed it. My mom—clearly disappointed—kept examining the salmon to prove it was undercooked. As her daughter, I was mortified. I quickly escorted her to the car to preserve what was left of her dignity, and returned alone to speak to the manager.

To his credit, the manager apologized and removed the wine from the bill. However, we were standing in the middle of the restaurant during this conversation, and the attention it drew was both embarrassing and uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, this was not the dining experience we had hoped for. While Tyler was exceptional and we truly appreciate his service, the overall execution and quality assurance were profoundly disappointing—especially on a day as significant as...

I usually go to Bonefish Grill on Saturdays for lunch with friends. Food, drinks and service are always exceptional. Tonight (Monday) went for dinner for my birthday. Explained to waiter that I didn't receive an email for complimentary bang bang shrimp appetizer or dessert for birthday. Waiter said "no problem, which one would you like". Waiter brings out the bang bang shrimp appetizer and 5 minutes later an irate man comes over and introduces himself as the manager of the Marlton store and very rudely said he has to send the email coupon to corporate and he will let this go this time but it won't happen again, just a warning. What?? The manager is that mad because of a complimentary $12 appetizer for someone's birthday. Nothing like happy birthday, enjoy your meal. Ordered a chocolate martini and waiter brings it out and drink is not filled all the way, just over half way. I asked the waiter, why is it not filled to the top, this will be done in 2 sips? Waiter said, no problem, I can get you another one. Waiter returns with the same drink and says bartender won't fill it up. What?? Told him I come here on Saturdays and my chocolate martini is always filled to the top. Needless to say, birthday dinner was not enjoyable because of manager and bartender. Bottom line, go to Bonefish on Saturdays when staff is friendly and it's enjoyable to dine there. Don't go on Mondays where the staff is rude. Waiter was nice, he was just caught in the middle of...

We enjoyed an early dinner for four. We had the sirloin steak and crab cake; sirloin steak and shrimp; scallops and shrimp skewers; and the trout. Steaks were a little over done for medium but still tender. Our sides were mixed up so we traded them to the correct people. A good waitress would have caught this before our meals were delivered. Otherwise meals were delicious. Service lacked. Only 1 then 2 other tables with customers the entire time we were there. Had to ask for refills for our drinks every time. Waitress wanted to clear our table while we were still eating. This was very rude. We asked for the dessert menu and it was delivered to us. 20 plus minutes passed until she returned to see what we wanted. Again place was almost empty. Ordered our desserts, lava cake with whipped cream and strawberries; key lime cake with whipped cream on the side; and brownies with vanilla ice cream and drizzled with pieces of macadamia nuts and raspberry sauce for dipping. All desserts were delicious. Due to the extent of time our waitress kept disappearing, we had to take our desserts to go. After they were delivered she promised to bring boxes and knew we had time issues by now. 15 minutes plus later we asked another waitress to find our waitress or to please bring our boxes. Food was very good....

Came in without a reservation on a Thursday night, but was seated immediately. Our waitress Sammy was extremely fast, attentive, polite, clear, checked up on us several times. She got our stuff out so quickly, every interaction was very deliberate. She seems very experienced. Clear signage for restrooms. Automatic soap and sink, paper towels and hand dryer, trashcan by the door. Two sinks, two urinals, one stall but the stall had slots in the door that just revealed the toilet and inside while closed. Don't expect privacy. Door seems a bit heavy for elderly customers. Ambient light but bright spotlights on the tables where it matters. Paper sheet table cloth over vinyl table covering. Wall paneling is very 90s, but furniture, wall art, and decor look very modern and clean. There's wifi too. - Tempura crunch sashimi tuna was nice. Covered in bits, over lettuce, with drizzle of Sriracha, side soy sauce and a wad of wasabi. Dragonfruit no-jito was very good. Soda like, not cough syrup like. Harvest Cider was mellow. Pumpkiny and gingery wasn't overpowering. Cod imperial was good. Cheesey salty crab caper mixture over delicate white fish. Asparagus could've been a little firmer in my opinion. Pumpkin creme brulee came cold, was hoping it was warm. Very custardy though. Fairly large. Split amongst two.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Exceptional Service by Haley! I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to take a moment to recognize the incredible service we received from Haley. From the moment we sat down, she made us feel genuinely welcome — like we were more than just customers. Her energy was warm, upbeat, and professional from start to finish. Haley was super knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations based on what we were in the mood for. She checked in at just the right times without ever making us feel rushed, and she handled everything with such ease and grace, even when the place got busy. What stood out most was her attention to detail and the way she connected with each of us — remembering our names, smiling the whole time, and making sure we were truly taken care of. It’s rare to find someone who goes above and beyond like that, and it honestly made the whole dining experience unforgettable. If you’re lucky enough to get Haley as your server, know you’re in great hands. She’s a true gem, and the kind of person who makes you want to come back — not just for the food, but for the service too.
