Nene's Taverna — Restaurant in Evesham Township

We had our rehearsal dinner at NENE Taverna in Malton, NJ and it was a complete disaster. I was torn about writing this but I'm still so upset, our night was ruined. We were never informed another party was going to be at the restaurant (which would have been fine) but they lied on the contract and wrote we were. They set up our tables where there is a wall cutting in between the tables. They put the party that booked AFTER us on the more open, nicer part of the restaurant. There were ONLY like 2 servers for our party over 50 and the other very large party (probably at least 50). AND they never printed out the pre-fixe menus we were told they would so guests didn't even know what was on our menu! Nonetheless, service was horrible, food was cold, and took forever. It took 25 minutes to get a Coke Zero and when my guest was given the soda it was Coke and she has diabetes! Unreal! Initially the owner was rude when we spoke to him but he did come in and make good on our bill and apologized profusely. I finally got the chance to dine at Nene's Taverna on Main Street in Marlton. I am huge fan of Allora, another restaurant owed by the owner of Nene's Taverna so I was anxious to try the new spot. The inside is beautiful with easy parking and access. We were immediately greeted by the host who was kind and sat us at a table. The server, Cloe was extremely attentive and super nice. We ordered an appetizer then two entrees. The appetizer came out quickly, followed by our entrees. No rush and perfect timing. Cloe checked in us to ensure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding. The Allora pizza was so good. It was made with gluten free crust, which tasted amazing. I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich and was very pleased. This place is incredible. Separate from the existing Nenes Deli, the Taverna has a different menu with more exotic pizzeria type food. Mark Beranato, Head Chef & Owner, has been offering high quality cuisine in both the Allora restaurant, also in Marlton, and the existing Nenes Italian Market for years now. So this third installment, The Taverna, is just another option for anyone looking for a high quality, relatively inexpensive lunch or dinner venue.
