Norte sur Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Exeter Township

We were greeted by an overwhelming smell, not sure if it was a cleaning agent or what it was, but it wasn’t pleasant at all. Next we noticed a big sign saying you can get a free margarita or beer since they don’t carry a liquor license. Ok, great. My daughter and I each ordered a meal. I got a margarita and it was good, Tortilla chips were standard and good. We didn’t care for the salsa so much, it was just ok. Our dinners seemed plentiful when they came out, which is great if you’re going for quantity over quality. Everything we got lacked flavor compared to other Mexican locations we dine at. The only real positive was my total bill for my daughter and I was only $27 before tip here, and the places down the road for my daughter and I are more around $45 before tip. It’s such a shame the flavors just weren’t there for us. There was only one server working the evening we were there. He did the best he could, poor guy seemed very overwhelmed. They offered us our empanadas for free since he forgot to put our order in for them. We could’ve done without them though because they were awful. So bummed about this experience, because we really hoped we would enjoy this more economical...

The food is delicious and the server was great. Unfortunately, the offers are misleading. I called to ask what the terms were for Wednesday kids eat free and I was told that they had to be 12 and under and how to pick something from the kids menu. I asked if There were any other terms and I was told no when my family and I are done eating. I realize that I am being charged for one of my child’s kids menu Item and when I question it, I am told that I had to pay one adult item in order to get one kids menu item free. I expressed that I called previously and was not told of this term even after asking what terms were needed. Our server nicely said she would ask the manager and then came back saying that they will not honor what they said and will be charging me the kids Menu item. I understand that mistakes can happen. This was our first time here as we are loyal customers of Plaza Azteca but figured to give another small local business a try….. BOY was I wrong!! From my first impression walking through the door and being greeted to the absolutely awful episode that unfolded at the end. Unfortunately the food wasn’t that bad until I saw a roach walking out of my wife’s tortilla foil wrap, when issue was addressed with our waitress, she proceeded to kill the roach with her finger and continue about her day waiting on the table next to us. When asked to speak with someone, she was the only one there, needles to say…. NOTHING was done about it and we paid for a full service meal, I guess they thought the roach was extra protein. We definitely will NOT be eating there again and will make sure to let others...
