Updated look at bottom review from 1 star to 4 stars! Let me say I'm very disappointed with my 1st time here!!! I ordered online a caeser salad dressing on the side, a mushroom pizza and a cookie. I got there a little before the given 9:25 estimated time. The young lady said a few more minutes, so I sat down and waited. The other girl was training a new guy and I heard her say a caeser salad with no caeser sarcastically. I figured it was my salad since I was the only customer. You don't know why someone would order no caeser dressing 1st of all!!! Maybe some people like other dressings!!! 🤯 To judge another persons food choices is amazing and takes me back to grade school. Some people never learn. So I get my food and walk out while the guy locks the door behind me. They closed 30 min early, even though google said they close at 10pm. I look in the bag and there was no caeser dressing on the side, even though the label says dressing on the side. I knocked on the door and they shut off the lights and I told them I need dressing. The young girl gets the dressing and said she was sorry. I start to walk away and look in the bag for the 1.50 cookie I paid for and guess what----- no cookie!!! I'm sorry but this restaurant needs a lot of work in many areas!!! I went to culinary school and have managed many kitchens in my life and this is just unacceptable!!! I know the work ethic has changed a lot and good workers are hard to come by, but come on the older girl was the main issue. Im guessing shes some type of management as the other 2 seemed very young and new. I probably wont be back. My professor always said if someone has a good meal at a restaurant they might tell 1 person on average, but if they have a bad experience they'll tell 10 people on average. 🤔 Also spent over 30 (not cheap) with 2 tips(guess i should wait from now on) Update 6/10/24 I have ordered pizza from ottos probably 5 to 10 times since my last review. I love the pozza if i remember to have the sauce on the bottom. The cup pepperoni is amazing and they use fresh mushrooms. The girls at the front counter are great most of the time with a grumpy 1 every once in a while with is fine with me. Im not super happy everyday but try my hardest to be a positive person. I think the exeter location has really improved and being from NY im a pretty picky person on pizza. I live in Exeter and mostly order from here cuz of the high quality sauce and ingredients. Another year of positive orders and ill update the stars to 5. A +++ Thanks!!

The first time we ordered from here, I didn’t realize they don’t spread the tomato sauce around the dough like a typical pizza. Instead, they add dollops of tomato sauce around the top, the “Otto way.” I found I don’t like the Otto way so I order mine the traditional way. Anyway, I really like the pizza here. The crust is delicious. You can tell it’s an authentic, simple recipe and it bakes beautifully. Toppings-wise, I’m a big fan of the hot honey cup pepperoni or plain cheese, but they offer a bunch of stuff. They have vegan cheese for the dairy free people, which is great. As far as other things on the menu, we’ve ordered the salads before and they’re average, so we really just stick to the pizza. Overall, a very decent take out pizza option for downtown Exeter 4/4.5 stars.. We’ve ordered take out from here many times, but this was our first time eating in. The pizza was even better than it normally is when we order takeout! The server was nice and the service was good, but slow. They have a few tables outside, which on a nice day / night, is lovely. And the restaurant has two different entrances / areas with plenty of room. The main area has a bar. The parking is hit or miss. It’s street parking and it can get busy at peak times. 3.5/4 stars for dine in Excuse the crappy pictures I kept forgetting to take some 🤷🏻‍♀️

We are finally get take out from here and couldn't be happier with the ease of ordering and pick up and the quality of the food. We got the meatball side (6 meatballs in sauce, and not swimming in sauce but just the right amount), and the bacon mushroom Vidalia onion pizza. I love that they make their own dough and roll out their own pies. The ingredients are fresh and delicious and we're sooo happy there is a gourmet pizza spot in Exeter AND that they're open 7 days!!!

Writing this review in hopes a manager/owner sees this. We went in for lunch on 8/31 at the Exeter location during the UFO festival. Needless to say there were quite a few people downtown because of this event. We were a party of 2 and seated pretty quickly when we arrived. After a few minutes our waitress came and took our drink order. While waiting for our drinks we started to notice there was not enough staff for how busy the restaurant was getting. The few staff that we did see were constantly running food, trying to take care of customers walking in, cleaning tables, etc. After putting in our food order the restaurant started to have a lot more foot traffic walk in looking to dine in. Since we were seated near the hostess stand, we could hear the staff explaining there were only 2 waitresses working and the waits would be long because of it. One of those waitresses (our waitress) was also the bartender making drinks for all the tables, customers at the bar, along with waiting tables. I assumed that some staff must have called out last minute and that explained the staff shortage. When our waitress did get to come over and check on us we learned that there was no call outs, this is how the management staffed the restaurant for the day. Knowing that there is an event with increased foot traffic, that was surprising to hear. Our waitress did an excellent job considering how much she was responsible for with very little help. There did not appear to be any manager/owner working at all. Customers were asking why there was a wait when there are clearly empty tables and the two girls working the hostess area, between the other tasks they were doing , had to keep explaining that there were only 2 waitresses working. Some people understood, some were frustrated and some just left. Opportunity to make money walking out the door. Our food was good, our waitress Mikayla was a rockstar trying to keep everything as smooth as possible as she was doing the work of 5 people. We really enjoyed the short time she was able to talk with us. The rating of two stars is to reflect the disappointment of the poor planning/scheduling by management leaving the staff that was there having to essentially turn people away because they did not have enough help. This would have been a great experience if there was enough staff to take care...
