The Cabin — Restaurant in Fairbanks

The Cabin was a great experience. My girlfriend invited me to see the band Rootsy Soul. I don't normally go to the bars yet I have to say I really enjoyed the atmosphere at The Cabin. It's not only very clean but decorated to fit It's name . I sat by the fire in a comfy chair right next to the dance floor and enjoyed the music. There out side area has a feel as if your out in nature by a camp fire . They have an A line shaped stage on one end with an older bus were you can sit inside, along with a beautiful designed triangle stacked wood with a beautiful mountain scape burned on to the logs. They have picnic tables to sit on along with a cool display of snow machines one the opposite end. The atmosphere is so enchanting that you could have an event there . They also have a really good DJ that kept people out on the dance floor during the band breaks. I was able to meet the owner and one of the bar tenders and had short conversations with them . I do have to say they were both kind and welcoming. Although I'm not a drinker I will forsure go back and enjoy the atmosphere. So check out The Cabin. It’s really hard to not give this place 5 stars…. I love the atmosphere , decoration, the night I went it was a guy playing music. You have to go to the bar to order , which for me is perfect so you get to talk with the person doing your drinks and the girl was amazing, so friendly , fast, fun…. My only BUT it’s the qpisco sour, it’s from my country (Chile) - that’s the reason why I went there in the first place- and even if it’s kind of nice, it’s not a pisco sour, specially the glass it’s not the glass to serve it. (It’s my only BUT). I was kind of disappointed about the pisco sour but the girl serving the drinks was so nice and friendly, that change my mood again. I order an Aperol sprits and it was nice. She can make whatever you ask for , if she doesn’t now how to Make it she would look for it, so I kind of wanted to rate this 5 because I had an amazing time there but , pisco sour !! Love that they let you bring...

Server was not rude but not engaging and even dismissive. Presented it as if my wife and I were inconvenient, buy a very clean and open atmosphere. I have lived in alaska since 1983 and had hoped for a full alaska type cabin environment. Even exicted to see what a new perspective on that would look like. While the place is clean and there is an alaska cabin theme it felt more like a lower 48 low dollar attempt at it. The items hanging all look to be imitations and not real. I think that it could very easily be adjusted to a more authentic alaska cabin and the bartender could be addressed as well. I hope the best for them but unless there is a change I would not...
