JJ Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Fairfield

Finally went to this place, every other time I've tried to go they had closed earlier than the time they have posted. Everything on the menu sounded good. I decided to get shrimp and chicken tenders because I figured it would be a tasty and simple combo to try for my first time. I paid $17 for my combo (with fries) and a lemonade. NOT WORTH IT. the tenders were VERY dry and bland. There was no flavor or seasoning at all. Idk who made the recipe but I've had fast food chicken that tasted far better than what I had here. The fried shrimp was tasty, but I might have gotten maybe 5 or 6 tiny shrimps with my meal. Definitely an underwhelming amount for someone who paid $17. Oh, the fries you might ask? Everything here fried, chicken and seafood. I visited and ordered catfish, chicken, shrimp. Both catfish & chicken were greasy and salty which did not appeal to me. The shrimps were flavorful and cooked perfect. Major difference. I really haven't neen back for their foodd. But on the other hand they also carry a selection of dessert from the original "Marita's Sweet Potatoe Pies". There Bakery was originally in San Leandro off Bancroft, then they relocated to Richmond "Hilltop Mall" and now moved back to San Lorenzo area. I've met the owners quite a few years back in San Leandro. There desserts are delicious everything sweet. I was very disappointed with the service. I attempted a phone order after being on hold for 5 minutes I attempted to call from my house phone only to be placed on hold. No one answered after 10 minutes. I when to the JJ. I asked why no one pick up the phone. The Manger Toby inform me it Friday night if I wanted fish then expected a delay. There a sign in JJ that for quicker service phone in orders. Anything your on hold for 10 minutes and this is the response from management not good. I live on the other side of town, now what should have taken half an hour took an hour and a half with very poor service. Customer service is the first rule of any restaurant.
