Our first visit after the new ownership. The previous restaurant was horrible due to the food the previous owners served. The previous "Lao/Thai" food was worse than my homemade version of it. In any event, moving forward; we were surprised and pleased with the foods today with the exception of the BBQ Pork. #2: Spicy Chicken Wings: The price was an eye opener, but well worth it. The crispyness and flavor were spot on. #15: BBQ Pork: The "sauce" put on top of the pork was a surprise, and it didn't really go well with the meat. If we do order it again, we would like the sauce on the side. #16: Crying Tiger: The beef was a little chewy, but it was as good as expected. The sauce accommodated perfectly with the meat. Only note to the owners, please ask how the customer wants the beef cook. #19: Tofu Drunken Noodles: The noodles were not too soft, and it was also nicely seasoned. The Tofu was firm and nicely accommodated the noodles. #51: Kao Poon: Very flavorful, also nicely seasoned. We liked it, but we would probably not order again. We had worse Kao Poon and this bowl was not bad. However, we were surprised that they didn't have Kao Soy. We would definitely come back to try other dishes. We believe these current owners are legit & authentic cooks. 👍

As the old saying goes Always trust your gut instinct. Now, let’s begin this new fabulous Lao review. RodSap is a popular restaurant known for its authentic Thai and Laotian cuisine. It’s located in a midsize plaza at downtown Fairfield, CA. As we heard from local customers who frequently praise their flavorful dishes, generous portions, and friendly service. That said we were excited in trying our first ever Lao cuisine. We arrived on a very warm afternoon for lunch, and were greeted by a young Laotian female staff. I must say their interior decor and layout were culturally curated and spacious, respectively. Their menu has an extensive list of food from appetizers, to salad to pan fried noodles to stir fried dishes served with rice. The culmination of our decision was when it’s either go with rice or pan friend noodles. I chose the latter. Their food was flavorful and tasty; food portion was suffice it to say enough. Iced tea was refreshing. Atmosphere was relaxing. Service was spot on. Staff were cordial, articulate and competent. Ample of parking. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious. I recommend you visit.

Stopped here on a whim on Sunday about an hour before closing. We were seated right away, ordered a few entrees. Got our appetizer, fried calamari pretty quickly. Our entrees came out pretty fast, too. Ordered the fried chicken breast with a citrus sauce and fried basil (yum), mini garlic ribs (double yum), pineapple fried rice (I would order this again to eat all to myself) and pad Thai (it has a sweet sauce). Hope to visit again and try other dishes! The staff were very nice and attentive.

The staff were extremely friendly as soon as we walked in, even though we came in less than an hour before closing time. It is very clearly a family run restaurant that you can feel good about supporting.

Food was good, we both had dishes from the fried noodles section of the menu, the portions were a good size. This restaurant provides much better value with comparable or better food than other Thai restaurants in Fairfield. If you don't order a drink and don't have a huge appetite so you can get two meals out of a dish, the value could be as good...
