We were in town for a meeting staying at a hotel nearby and I did a search and I found this restaurant so I decided to take the group there. We got there about 30 minutes before close and there was a group of seven of us but they welcomed our group even though they were close to closing time which was nice.
We ordered quickly so we wouldn't be hanging around too long.
I ordered a large bowl with steak and flank brisket. I presumed there would be quite a bit of meat in a Large bowl but unfortunately not the case. This is the only criticism that I had, there really wasn't very much meat compared to other Pho restaurants that I've been to. So I had to order a side order of meat to put in it in order for it to be enough. I don't really think you should have to do that if you're already ordering a large bowl . Kind of disappointing.
However, everything smelled good when we walked in and was delicious and tasted fresh.
The service was good and I'm not sure but the guy serving us kind of acted like an owner and he was very pleasant and attentive taking care of us so I appreciated the service.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant because the food is good. Hopefully they consider adding a little bit more meat to their...
Read moreTonight I ordered dinner from this restaurant on door dash, and had intended for a delivery but accidentally set it for pick up. When I placed the order it was right at closing. When I realized my mistake, I just knew they were closed and my dinner was gone. Not long after, I received a call from the restaurant owner letting me know my order was ready, and I explained to him what happened and that I was unable to get out to pick it up. This kind man offered and practically insisted on driving it to my house after he locked up, and he said he felt bad that I wouldn't get my dinner! When he arrived, we insisted on giving him a tip, and he tried SO hard to refuse, but we shoved it in his arms and kindly nudged him off the porch lol.
The food in our order was delicious, but I'm really writing this review to highlight the kindness, integrity, and INCREDIBLE commitment to service is happening at Pho Saigon. I know not too many people would do something like that, and in this day and age, these simple acts of kindness just takes my breath away. If you are looking for a tasty bowl of pho I highly recommend stopping by here and giving them a try....
Read morePho Saigon No 1 is a popular Vietnamese restaurant in N. Texas avenue in Fairfield. It has no fancy decor or atmosphere, but comfortable tables and seats. Modest prices, with well seasoned dishes, and adequate sizes.
We came on a nice cool evening to grab some dinner. Their food and drink menu was simple and direct. I had a Com Tom Ga Nuong (Rice x grilled chicken and shrimp) with soup and milk iced tea. The food and soup were banal, lacks flavor and freshness. Moreover, both food and soup were lukewarm. Break my marbles!
One can opine that there was no love and dedication in food quality they serve. I have been to a two dozen vietnamese places, and guess what? I know what’s a mediocre food vs a great authentic cuisine. I was surprised when they served it in less than five minutes after ordering. If only they took time to warm it up more. But I reckon this is the type of place to get a quick in and out meal. Prices were very reasonable, hence, the locals liked it. Staff were cordial and competent.
Overall, I think it’s a decent Pho place for commoners. Given my dine-in experience I am reticent to recommend nor...
