This was my second visit to Ponte's, which is pronounced by the locals as "Pahnies," so of course I had to ask... how do you spell it? Well, we found it the first time and I ordered different things to try stuff, like Chicken enchiladas, a Burger, Chicken fried steak, fries, a salad...the best dish for me was the Chicken enchiladas, rice and beans...very ironic since it doesn't appear to be a Mexican restaurant, although the name could be...not sure. Burger meat quality...excellent and not full of grease, although it lacks flavor, which may be why the buns are always filled with sauce. The fries have a ton of potential, but even a sprinkling of seasoning would be terrific because they are Always hot and fresh! (Tons of fries and no flavor = cardboard that need ketchup)! The chips and salsa would give any Mexican restaurant a run for their money, and Tammies Pecan Brittle is the reason I actually return from 3 hours away! The young staff members are always nice, and I'm assuming that they may not be accustomed to people placing orders online, and driving to curbside for pick up, because when I did, a young female immediately approached my car and asked me to move over one space, which confused me for a sec...I had to tell her that I placed an order online, and wanted to step in and buy Brittle, because I didn't see it on the menu.
A better approach would have been to ask before rushing out and telling me to move over, basically get out of curbside. Once she understood, she told me that I was fine where I was...well, especially because I knew that I ordered online and di not want to park in a spot out front for dine in only customers. Lol
Simple tweak fixable in training with a basic question... Did you place a to go order, or are you here to pick up a to go order? Assumptions create feelings... good or bad! Best meal for me... Chicken enchilada plate, full of flavor! Good return on investment... the Peanut brittle, and I bought the last pack...so the 3 full boxes of Pecan brittle, and I love pecans... were still sitting on the shelf! I still bought 3 packs... but there is definitely a ton there! Peanut is the preference, although I know that variety is important! I need Tammie's brittle at Buc-ee's, or closer to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Ponte's in Fairfield, Texas, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight! The overall experience was fantastic, and I couldn't help but rave about their mouthwatering milkshakes and delectable bacon-wrapped jalapeños.
First, let's talk about the milkshakes. Ponte's offers an impressive variety of flavors that cater to every taste bud. From classic favorites like chocolate and vanilla to more unique options like salted caramel and strawberry cheesecake, there's something for everyone. The milkshakes were thick, creamy, and perfectly blended, making them a refreshing treat on a hot Texas day. Trust me; you won't be disappointed!
Now, let's move on to the star of the show - the bacon-wrapped jalapeños. These little bites of heaven were a burst of flavors in every bite. The combination of the smoky bacon and the spicy kick of the jalapeños was simply irresistible. The jalapeños were perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of heat, and the bacon added a delightful crunch. They were so addictive that I couldn't stop myself from ordering more!
Apart from the milkshakes and bacon-wrapped jalapeños, Ponte's menu offers a wide range of delicious options. Whether you're in the mood for burgers, sandwiches, or salads, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings. Read moreYou'd think I would learn my lesson when choosing a dinner destination. It seems to always be something thats forgotten or a lack of quality without anyone accepting responsibility in the end. Why bother offering to go orders if you cant get things right? This time it was stuffed jalapenos, queso, and salsa. Seems straight forward. Im halfway home and realize there arent any chips in the bag. I turn around as I call back to tell them about the chips. I arrive to get the chips and no one comes out with my chips. I can see there's not one person dining inside. I wait. I then decide to call them to let them know I am outside only to have the manager answer the phone with a greeting that ends with "we arent taking any more to go orders". I again explain why I am back at the restaurant. Eventually a kid comes out with a bag of chips. I get home and realize that instead of ranch dressing that comes with the stuffed jalapenos I received cream gravy. My chips are in one bag inside of another bag that has 2 orders of salsa in it. So now I have 3 orders of salsa and queso with one bag of chips. What a waste of food. I call back to let someone know about the lack of ranch and again the manager answers the phone immediately stating that they're closed. Why? I dont care. I explain that I received cream gravy instead of ranch and she says that they were "really busy tonight". Im done with giving my money to this "joint" four times a month and all I can say is if you eat here, prepare yourself for disappointment with no...
