Got home from here not long ago. Believe it or not, this is the 1st review I have ever wrote. I am hoping the owners see this & get a clue. Have been here 3x now since opened. It is basically the same each time. Order food, send back, then settle. Was there with 3 others & got table at bar. Noticed restaurant was not packed on a Friday night. Living in area, knowing the area needed a place like this, and not packed on Friday? Should tell you something. Ordered drinks and nachos. Food came out cold. How is that possible for nachos to be cold? Sent back. Got 2nd nachos. Mushy!!! We picked at it and said, no way. Sent it back. Come on guys, this is nachos!!! Ordered disco fries. Came out on small plate, maybe 12-15 fries. Melted cheese & light gravy. All for $6!!!! Guys, you are no a high end steakhouse. You are not a high end seafood restaurant. 12-15 fries for $6???? Really??? This is potatos, gravy and cheese. You gotta be kidding me. Taste on these was awesome. But quantity was ridiculous. Ordered the sliced steak on bread pieces. Flavor was awesome. Garlicy as can be, but really good. Mashed potatos? ICE COLD...I mean, really? So, had disco fries, sliced steak platter, 3 vodka straight ups, 3 vodka mixed drinks, 2 double scotches, and 2 beers, $145!!!!! Oh yeah, nachos that went back..Again, $145!!!!! Saw coupons in Money Mailer: BOGO, Free Kids Meal, Extended Happy Hour, 25% off lunch, NOW I GET WHY.
If there is any chance an owner is seeing this, please listen: 1) Your drinks are overpriced. You are not a high end restaurant, by far. 2) Your food is hit or miss, usually miss. Sitting by the bar, near the kitchen, out of 4-5 entrees that went out, 1 went back. This is INSANE!!! 3) Whoever makes the Nutley location so much better than the Fairfield location, get them involved with Fairfield!!! Don't know how there can be this much of a difference!! (I don't know who this person(s) is/are, nor do i care, just do it. 4) Your manager guy who dresses nice & walks around, that is all he does. He doesn't notice an unhappy customer if he/she smacked him in the face. He is all show & nothing else. He walked by us, with our nachos sitting here & us complaining 3x. Couldn't care less! 5) Please fix this place. You met a niche that is really needed in this area. The only reason you will fail is because of you, not because of us...FIX IT AND WE WILL...
Read moreSo my wife and I are currently sitting here in attempt to enjoy our 21st Wedding Anniversary. We were seated in the dining room and the employees and managers had a full meeting next to my table very loudly. They were discussing an employees accident and whether they believed him or not. My wife was not happy and this experience ruined the evening. There were also other employees who were not a part of the meeting standing there on their phones having personal conversations. We explained to the waiter it was noisy and they still didn't move or disperse. Despite this we stayed, my wife sent her steak back because it wasn't cooked properly. We didn't finish our food we packed it up and told our waitress who was a doll about our experience. She asked the manager to come over which happened to be the same manager who ran that mess of a meeting at the table and we told him about the experience. Prior to him coming to our table he stood next to our table had a conversation with an employee which contained profanity and he was eating as well. The first thing I said was it was our 21st Wedding Anniversary and he clearly missed that because he never acknowledged that. However, he did apologize with a but that another manager knew they should not have had that meeting though he appeared to run it. He offered a gift certificate for the inconvenience because they asked for a second chance. We accepted the gift card and didn't check the amount until we got outside and it was for $40. I feel that was just a slap in the face because it was a steakhouse which is pricy in itself. They ruined our dining experience so I felt a comp or something else could have been offered. Again, our waitress was very sweet and professional, it was the atmosphere of employees and management around us. Will not be going back again. What a shame because the food...
Read moreI was greeted my a man who claimed to be the owner at the bar entrance. A party of 3 who all were of 21 age, it was obvious we will be asked for ID. This was no problem since everyone carries a driver's license. The "owner" asked for a secondary ID. He claimed a probationary license was not sufficient. I hope they learn that some people don't receive their full license until near expiry date. Regardless this does not affect the authenticity of the license. I asked what form of secondary ID he is carrying because I believe this was a unreasonable request. He claimed he has a social security card with a photo. This does NOT exist. I don't appreciate being lied to. "Owner" was clearly drunk, no one should ever treat a customer like this. I asked if he carried a passport on him because that is the only secondary ID most people would even own. He got into my face with some disgusting breath and said "Are you or I asking the questions here?". At this point I knew there was no reasoning with this "owner". I took my business elsewhere. I have ate here before with coworkers and I will make sure to let all of them know about my latest experience. I hope the owner has a great new year knowing he lost many customers and humiliated himself. As I left, I overheard the owner complain about serving to 15 year old children. I was appalled that I was age discriminated like this. I question whether this was truly the owner. I hate to leave such a negative review if this was simply a drunk customer claiming to be the owner. So the owner can feel free to reply and...
