Although the Hampton Inn Fairhaven MA might be okay for a pit stop on a road trip, you should not rely on them to handle a group of guests for an event. I recently used them for my wedding, I had rooms blocked off and therefore inquired about a shuttle service to the location of the event which was 5 miles away. I spoke with the Director of Sales who seemed to be knowledgeable about the subject. After a 10 minute conversation I decided to used their van to bring guest to and from the wedding. We agreed to specific time intervals and that we would leave the possibility to make runs after those intervals in case the party ran late. 2 weeks after this conversation I received a phone call from the Director of Sales who then proceeded to ask me all of the same questions over again as if we had not had the first conversation. Since this phone call worried me I had my now wife call them to confirm the schedule a few days before the event, she reported to me that it was again seeming like we were setting it up for the first time. The day of the event started off with the van showing up seemingly on time and bringing guests as planned, however the end of the night did go as smoothly. A half hour before the last run was scheduled to depart I was informed by a guest that the last run was about to leave. Knowing I was paying for the next half hour I approached the van driver (who turned out to be the Director of Sales I had made the appointment with) and reminded her about our agreed upon time window. At this point the Director of Sales told me I was incorrect and she had only ever spoken to the bride. Trying to resolve the situation I reminded her that we would pay for any amount of time we go over the scheduled runs. To this I got a rude reply and told that no matter what was said or done she was leaving for the last time in 5 minutes. At this point I returned to the function to tell the remaining guest to leave and arrange rides for those who were left. Two days after the event I called the hotel and spoke with the General Manager about the situation that had taken place. Half way through me telling her about the scheduling process she interrupted me and said that I was wrong because the “store policy” was not to ever drive the van after 11 P.M. She went on to tell me that she had a “written contract,“ which was actually an instruction sheet we had supplied our guests with. At this point she said “I am sorry if you feel that way but you are incorrect, we would never do that” referring to the Director of Sales being rude to me in front of my guests. She continued to cut me off every time I tried to say anything with that same comment at which point I was forced to hang up. Moral of the story, the management at this hotel is rude and inconsiderate, after calling up for a simple apology I instead was accused of lying and was rudely interrupted...
Read moreThe room had unbearable stench. The manager Crystal would only switch the room when the possible legal action was mentioned. No one told me about 24 hr notice for room cleaning request when we checked in, this hotel refused to clean my room on the second day we stay. Horrible staff accommodation. Will never stay in another Hampton inn. Bed was uncomfortable, the arm chair had dirty stain. Bathroom tub was clogged with hair. Hotel from Hell!
Hampton Inn FairHaven MA. When we checked in Saturday 8/27/2022 around 3 PM, we were given a King Bed room on the 2nd floor initially, when we entered the room we were hit by a very strong stench which was unbearable to my wife and also myself. When I informed this fact to the front desk, Crystal Demoranville, Manager told me the hotel was sold out and there was nothing she could do for us. We traveled from Connecticut to go visit Martha's Vineyard for our 25th Anniversary on Sunday and we already had purchased the Ferry round trip tickets. We requested that we have a room without an offensive smell, Crystal said that I was rude. When I mentioned I may have to resort to legal action, only then, she switched the room to room 122. In room 122, we found the bed was very uncomfortable, the bathroom floor had human hairs stuck on the floor, the tub was clogged with human hair that my wife had to dig out a bunch of human hair from the drain so that the tub does not overflow when we took shower. Next morning, we called the front desk to say that we wanted the room cleaned, and a staff member said that the room would be cleaned. When I called the front desk again right before we left for the Ferry to Martha's Vineyard to inform them we were leaving the room for the day, Crystal Demoransville, the manager answered and told us the room would not be cleaned because we had not given them 24 hr notice. When Crystal Demoransvile, the manager, checked us in on Saturday 8/27/2022, she never told us about this policy. I was told that Hotel was still adhering to Covid 19 regulations yet no staff was wearing masks, no one was keeping social distance. A staff member just dropped towels to our room saying she was not supposed to set foot into our room. Because we did not have time to argue before we had to catch the Ferry on Sunday 8/28/2022, we had to leave the scene. One time a staff member at the front desk threatened us that she would just cancel our stay and we could just leave. We had arranged the visit to Martha's Vineyard on Sunday for our 25th Anniversary and we were told we could just leave the hotel all because we asked them to clean this unsanitized room with clogged bathtub and dirty bathroom floor just one time after we paid $533 for a two night stay. How...
Read moreWe were looking for a reasonably priced hotel along I-95 in eastern Connecticut or Rhode Island or along I-195 in Massachusetts as a stopover as part of a longer drive. I looked at a ton of Trip Advisor reviews and hotel websites, and I settled on the Hampton Inn in Fairhaven because of the solid price, the good reviews, and the location (it was the furthest place east I considered). ||Bottom line: I made the right choice. I was concerned because this was the only hotel I considered that was not literally right off the highway, as we had to ride on a road for a few minutes to get to the hotel, but the ride was quick, and it was fine. The area was desolate at 9 p.m. at night. I was surprised that everything was closed. The only thing open was the mini mart at the gas station. That concerned me a little when we arrived. However, the next morning with everything open, everything was fine. We even got some stuff we needed at the Marshall's across from the hotel before we hit the road.||The hotel itself was exactly what you would expect from an Hampton Inn along a highway: Clean and comfortable. The room was large, with a separate living area with a couch and TV. The furniture was newish and in good shape. The bed was comfortable. The shower in the bathroom worked well. The breakfast was a standard Hampton Inn breakfast (eggs, bacon, a waffle maker, pastries, bread, yogurt, cereal, juice, etc.). There was a refrigerator (we used) and microwave (we did not use).||There was a pool, but we didn't use it. It looked fine, although it was a little small and kind of right in the parking lot. ||I would certainly stay here again as a stopover on a drive. It was a good place to stay...
