Hoops Cafe — Restaurant in Fairmont

Worst Restaurant Experience.

First time trying Hoops since we moved to fairmont and was absolutely disappointed at the service and the food. We ordered an appetizer of cheese sticks and 2 orders of 10 wings. The appetizer didn't come out until after the food, and the first order of wings had 6 burnt or over cooked wings. After 10 minutes of trying to flag down the server to let her know she stated that "they don't normally look like this" and offered to replace them. She walked away with them and came back not even 2 minutes later stating that all the wings look like this but she would take them off the bill. All while the second order of 10 wings looked perfect; not burnt or over cooked. Our server who had 2 other tables and a single person at the bar top seemed to only check in with the 2 tables including bussing a whole table while ignoring us trying to flag her down. Went in Saturday at the end of a wvu Pitt game, there was perhaps 5 people seated st the bar. Came in, sat down, was ignored by the guy behind the bar the "entire time" think it was the owner, waitress, probably wife, after several minutes "acknowledged" us. I would've left after a couple minutes but didn't want to start the night off that way. Anyway, she took our order , wings where "ehh" refried I think, can get better at sheets. Little while later, no, would u like anything else? A beer? Nope, just a check. Hoops sucks, service sucks, food is nasty, I'm not a regular there, maybe they only want their "regulars there" I.d.k. but I won't be back. I'll give my money to an establishment that appreciates my decision to walk through their doors. It smelled better when it was "cv news" years ago, and that's not saying much. Had takeout the first time we tried this place. Had the jerk salmon and it was really good. Went back to eat in and got the salmon salad, I tell you this place can cook salmon! Very satisfied. I'm not a basketball person myself but the place had really cool photos, was expecting a bit more like the basketball hoop game for some reason. Dinning area was kind of small if you don't want to sit on the tall tables. We had a baby so we sat on the corner table right by the window and it was a bit crammed since we also had a high chair. Service was okay, we weren't greeted at the door so we didn't know if we sat ourselves or if we had to wait. It took a bit for the server to notice us and come to our table, I had no idea which one was the server. I guess they have a bar on the other side of the building and they were busy over there.
