Balochistan Restaurant is a remarkable experience I would wholeheartedly recommend. As someone living in Staten Island, it was a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant serving authentic Baloch cuisine within driving distance. From the moment you step inside, you're immersed in the rich culture and ambiance of Balochistan. The decor is deeply reflective of the Baloch people. Toward the back, two mannequins dressed in traditional attire greet you, while the walls feature portraits of historical figures like Chakar the Great. The furniture is beautifully adorned with Balochi embroidery and tapestry, and traditional sofas with Baloch rugs line the dining area. Traditional Baloch instruments like the dambura, hang proudly on the wall, adding to the sense that you’ve momentarily stepped into Balochistan itself.

For appetizers, we started with the chicken samosas. They had a unique flavor and texture that set them apart from other samosas I’ve tried. For our main course, we ordered the Full Leg of Baloch Mutton Sajji, which was impressively large, enough to serve five people. The meat was incredibly tender and melted in your mouth, while the perfectly cooked rice complemented it beautifully. It was absolutely worth both the wait and the price. We also tried the Chicken Quetta Karahi along with freshly baked Quetta naan. Everything was seasoned perfectly and bursting...

Balochistan Restaurant – Authentic Balochi & Pakistani Dining in Fairview, NJ

Located in Fairview, NJ, Balochistan Restaurant and Catering serves authentic Balochi and Pakistani cuisine made with zabihah halal meats. We enjoyed a flavorful variety of dishes including Saranan (maash daal), Mutton Rosh, Butter Chicken, Beef Nali Nihari, Mango Lassi, regular Lassi, and Quetta-style Doodh Patti Chai. Every dish was fresh, balanced in spices, and deeply satisfying.

The restaurant’s ambiance is just as memorable as the food. It features traditional Balochi décor—from hand-carved wooden doors and colorful floor cushions to patterned curtains and detailed woodwork. There are three large traditional-style floor seating areas elevated on a stage, creating an immersive cultural setting for diners.

Service was excellent—friendly, respectful, and welcoming, especially toward families with kids. A lot of care and effort has clearly gone into both the hospitality and the cultural presentation.

A must-visit for anyone looking to experience rich Balochi flavors in an authentic and beautifully...

We had an incredible dining experience at Balochistan Restaurant in Fairview, NJ! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was warm and welcoming, and the food completely exceeded our expectations.

We ordered a variety of dishes including the Mutton Saranan Rosh, Karachi Chicken Biryani, Balochi Botti, Chicken Charsi Karahi, and Quetta Broast—each one was full of rich flavor and clearly made with care. The Quetta Tandoori Naan and Lacha Paratha were perfect accompaniments, freshly made and delicious.

For drinks, we had Mango Lassi, Salted Lassi, Sulemani Tea, and sodas—refreshing and authentic. Even the smaller touches, like the tea and water service, were handled with attention and care.

The portion sizes were generous and everything was served fresh and hot. You can tell this place puts their heart into their cooking. With a total of about $198 for a feast that easily satisfied a group, the value was also excellent.

Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving genuine Pakistani/Balochi flavors. We’ll...

We visited ‘Balochistan Restaurant’, a newly opened, Halal, very beautifully decorated restaurant in Fairview, NJ. We tried Balochi Thaal, which was a Chicken Mandi, excellent rice and perfectly cooked and seasoned Whole Chicken, Beef Chapli with the right amount of meat to fat ratio and seasoning and it went very well with their Chutney and Raita. The Tandoori fish was very well seasoned and baked in a Tandoor, perfect for the diet conscious. Their Naan was different than most places, I think they use different flour, good for health and delicious. Also, namkeen and mango lassi were very well made too. Doodh Patti Chai was awesome and freshly made, with cardamom flavor. This is not a typical Pakistani restaurant, the cuisine is Balochi and they stick to the original flavors and spice level. It’s perfect for people who prefer mild spices like Persian and Afghani cuisine, but they are original and not fusion. Please do give it a try if it suits your tastebuds. Thank you. May Allah give barkat to their restaurant. Aameen. 🤲

The region of Balochistan has influence of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. There is evidence of human settlement in Balochistan dating back to 7000 BCE. The rare breed of riding horse, Nukra originated here. It is a sort of rectangular shaped horse with snow white hair and pink skin. It is considered amongst the three most beautiful (shiniest) horses in the world. Just like Nukra, the food of Balochistan is unique. Its flavor is very different from the typical South Asian food. The dish that shines is Rosh. It is salt roasted lamb (almost nothing else). It is just basic salt roast (called Rosh). This dish is eaten along with some Mash Dal (a type of lentil) and Bread. But since I was here, I ordered Lamb Chops too plus Kabuli Plov. Oh yes, we get this unique food in North America now. We get this at Balochistan Restaurant (312 Bergen Blvd Fairview, NJ 07022). Take a look (but also check out the Nukra Horse)
