A Must-Visit Spot in Fajardo – Las Casitas Picadera & Café!
Wow! If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Fajardo, look no further than Las Casitas Picadera & Café. We had the appetizer sampler, and let me tell you—it was out of this world!
Let’s start with the alcapurrias—hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. They actually seasoned the meat, and the flavor was next level. The fried bacalao was amazing—even as someone who doesn’t usually eat fish, I couldn’t resist! The empanadillas were perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and seasoned to perfection. And the coconut arepas? It's absolutely phenomenal! I’ve tried arepas in other places and wasn’t impressed, but these were game-changer. The chicharrón? Crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of crunch.
And let’s not forget the piña coladas—so good we were basically on “keep them coming” mode!
The ambiance is perfect for families, and my kids absolutely loved it here. Their Popsicles were a hit—especially the Nutella one, which I might be biased toward, but I swear it was the best! We also tried their strawberry cheesecake and strawberry popsicles, and every bite was pure bliss.

Read moreFirst time visiting, great ambiance & friendly staff. I ordered the Fish nuggets --WOW🤩-- they were big, flavorful, cooked perfectly, best anywhere, loved the breading (reminded me of the mix localy used in making cod fritters -- loved it!!) & it comes with homemade tartar sauce -- forever will be my #1 dish here. The "arepas de coco" had real coconut pieces!!! My husband ordered the skirt stake with fried sweet plantains. It was also cooked perfectly. He loved the homemade chimichurri it came with. We ordered from their natural juice selections - passion fruit juice & a passion frappe == they were great tasting & you could tell they were NATURAL!! Recommend it 100%... only reason I didn't give them 5⭐️ was the bathroom wasn't too accesible - my hubby currently can't walk too far or steps - other than that, we will definitely revisit every chance we can when in...
Read moreEvery year I visit Fajardo, PR, I always stop at Las Casitas Picadera & Cafe. I always try something new and they have not disappointed. The Great Service by the waitress, the owners (Jimmie & Sonia, Super Friendly, run by their manager whom is their daughter) and the cooking staff which keeps putting out Great dishes. 3 years in a row and have not had a bad dish. The Piña Colada (virgin or with liquor) is the best I have ever had in long time. The atmosphere is quaint and very charming. Under an outdoor seating with romantic lighting, perfect for a adorable peaceful dinner night out with the Coqui sound in the background. Plenty of parking and they have the Huge Puerto Rico chair where some perfect pictures can be taken as reminders. Never had anything truly negative to say. Love this place. One of my...
