I wish that I could give negative stars for this review, by far the worst restaurant experience of my life. To start off the atmosphere was horrible, the place was packed and there were random people standing around drinking among the tables of families and couples trying to eat their dinner. It was so loud, I couldn't hear anyone talking. I don't think the service could have been any worse. The waitress was MIA most of the time, she took 5 minutes in between placing our drink order (a bottled water and a sprite, nothing from the bar), and bringing them to our table. Then another 10 minutes for her us to finally flag her down and place our dinner order. It seemed like she only had a 2 or 3 table section (there's probably only a dozen tables in this place), so I'm not really sure why she was M.I.A. for most of the time we were there. Our food took forever, so we asked for another basket of bread twice and never received it. As if the experience could not get any worse, when she finally delivered my pizza, as soon as she put it on the table, something just did not smell right. I ate a slice, and then when I picked a piece of chicken off another slice to eat it, I realized what the horrendous smell was. The chicken smelled like it had been sitting at room temperature for days. Again my waitress was no where to be found, I had to get the attention of the guy clearing tables to get the manager for me. To my surprise, 5 minutes later, the waitress reappeared to say that the owner was cooking and he wasn't going to be able to come out and talk to me. She then proceeded to tell me how they had been serving that chicken all night, and she hoped it wasn't bad because a lot of people would get sick. I would have been mortified if was sitting at the table next to me listening to her. Of course my boyfriend and I got very sick that night. So unless food poisoning and horrible service is your thing, STAY AWAY...
Read moreThere are three reasons why I love dining at Mesa 21. Excellent service and food, plus great prices. The staff is very well organized and hustles to provide the best service. The food is great. Taco Tuesday is a must try. $2.00 tacos with either dirty or truffle fries will hit the spot. The tacos are either: fish, chicken, pork or beef. My fav is the chicken. We went back and tried the Italian pizza. We also ordered the calamari and could not eat it all. The large pizza is like an extra large at most places. The Dragon Steak Nachos are insanely tasty and filling. The King Prime Rib special on Thursday is superb. Mine was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My wife gave the scallops a thumbs up. Back again and tried the Cod Cakes, which were excellent and I don’t like seafood. Our friend had the salmon and he said, “Good salmon, good potatoes, good food.” My wife says every time we come here it runs like a well oiled machine. Everything we have tried has been great. Back again for Taco Tuesday. Back once more with different friends from Kansas for Taco Tuesday. What a fantastic lunch we had. Great meal again with great service. Tried the Mesa 21 steak with round potatoes and enjoyed every bite. Back again for the King Prime Rib special. Started with Mesa 21 Rolls as an appetizer. Went with one shrimp and one chorizo. Both were great as was the sauce. The sauce is so good that I put some on my mashed potatoes. My wife went with the Atlantic Oven Roasted Cod Loin and her comment was “I have found a new favorite.” Once again Mesa 21 did a great job. Always a great place to enjoy a fine meal. Deanna always does a great job providing allstar service. You cannot go wrong here with the excellent...
Read moreThis evenings review is solely based on service. Now I’m not sure if you guys have a monthly meeting of some sort but I highly think there needs to be some type of management. More than a few times before tonight, my girlfriend calls to see if they are accepting reservations due to covid. Most days we get the first come first serve answer, another week we just got “we’re booked up for the night” (i mean if you aren’t taking reservations then i don’t get how you can be booked up). But this is the least of our concern. In this area I think between management and employees? There needs to be some corrections in communication.
Now, tonight I got out of work. I’m like you know what let’s go to Mesa and get some dinner. We called, there’s a 20-25 minute wait, no biggie. I decided I just wanted to order out. I had my girlfriend call back to place the order as I ran into a store, I come back and she was on hold for a while that she even forgot she was on hold. She calls back, gets in touch with a manager and really it’s just a poor excuse of why she was on hold for that long. Manager told her they only have 1 phone and the lady who picked up probably was taking another order and JUST FORGOT she had someone else on the line. Now I’m no genius but 15 minutes being on hold? A little ridiculous if you ask me. Maybe as a manager take some accountability and be genuine about feeling sorry. I’m not sure if I’ll be returning soon just because things like this frustrates me and drives me away from a place that I love going to. Maybe I’ll give you guys another try in the future. Definitely... gather together and actually find a solution on how you can prevent things like this from happening, making sure...
