THE SERVICE:
Come as you are, sit where you’re comfortable, and someone will be there shortly type restaurant. The atmosphere was inviting, and our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu options. As new customers, we appreciated her detailed descriptions and recommendations.
Food service was extremely slow with a wait time of approximately 45 minutes after being seated. However, food items arrived hot and fresh. Additionally, we observed the cooks working very hard to fill ticket orders.
THE FOOD:
The wait was well worth it! The cinnamon bun pancake was delicious. I only had a sliver, but it was fluffy, balanced flavors, with a nice cinnamon crunch edge. It’s a rich dish, and leans towards a breakfast dessert- for my palate preferences.
I ordered a breakfast combination consisting of French toast, bacon and home fries. Every item was prepared well and tasted really good. The home fries were my standout bite because they were well seasoned and not overcooked.
The caramel iced coffee was not my palate pal. The coffee was muted in taste, and the caramel flavor was nearly undetectable.
THE VALUE:
Good food at an affordable price point. There’s something for everyone on the menu, especially children who would enjoy their twisted treats.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Extended wait times happen for factors that can be outside an owner’s control. It’s helpful for staff to inform patrons of anticipated wait times, as well as providing periodic updates. While dining we heard several customers complaining about the wait for their food. One party had to request their food to go once it finally arrived or else they’d be late to work. This could have been mitigated with better...
Read moreI can not even rate the food. I was not able to get past the beyond rude service. Walking in I was already disappointed to see the same waitress as the last owner. She has always been borderline rude and/or inconvenienced at best when taking an order. I walk in sit at the counter and I am asked what I want. How about a menu? That would help! I let that go and begin to place my order, at which time the waitress tells me I am getting ahead of myself because I did not tell her how I wanted my eggs cooked before I was done ordering. How about you shut up and let me finish my order instead of interrupting with a rude comment and then ask how I want my eggs cooked. Nope! I then, visibly aggravated comment on her rudeness and am told not to get mad this is just the norm around here. Like it's ok. Nope! Bottom line, same rude service I've always tolerated and tipped appropriately regardless. This being my neighborhood I'm very disappointed even under new ownership I can not ever order from this place. If this is acceptable service by the owners maybe you should change your name from twisted griddle to Karen's diner. Where rude service is expected!...
Read moreI’m not a breakfast guy but I decided to try this place for the first time. Ordered through door dash from my sister’s phone and after placing the order, the restaurant (believe it was the owner on the phone) had told me of a slight hiccup I may have caused when choosing the options. She resolved it very smoothly and kindly which I was not expecting. Just from that I can already tell the care she puts into her business with customers whether it be inside or through mobile orders. The food arrived and I was actually stunned by the portions they give you for the price. The omelette was cooked beautifully. The hash inside along with the cheese complemented each other so well, nothing overpowered one another. Toast was buttery and tasted in house from scratch. The home fries were really well seasoned. I will definitely be coming back for more. The menu sounds wild and interesting, I like that....
