El Patron Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Falls Church

Every once in a while, I come accross a place that just serves me something delicious and I make that my go to for that particular dish. This is exactly what happened to me with Blanca's.

It was pretty empty when I came in, but that was fine by me as I like it when restaurants don't have a lot of people, it makes the staff focus on you more. Because of this, our orders didn't take long at all. I had never been in it before and all the food seemed pretty exotic to me, so I just took a shot in the dark and ordered the Sopas De Rez. When it got to my table, it looked like a broth of meat and different vegetables. The presentation wasn't worked on but how well can you present a broth really?

I tried and I couldn't stop shoveling that stuff in my mouth. It was delicious, warm when I swallowed and a bit spicy when it landed on my tummy. The meat was soft, almost melted in my mouth and the veggies around it do well to compliment the protein.

Okay first of all the service was fine. What was not fine was the drinks and management. My dads drink was a Cebada it was too watery absolutely did not taste like the way it’s suppose to and my moms drink just had something it shouldn’t have had in it. They say the customer is always right, correct ? So my mom (keep in mind she has 20+ years in the food industry) spoke with the manager all she said was she’s not trying to get a free meal she’s just letting him know what was not right and he had the nerve to go back and forth to prove a point to her about what “didn’t go wrong with her drink” but we all know there was a piece something in there that was not apart of the ingredients to make the fruit juice also he gave us a business card to get a free appetizer the next time we go back but point is we’re not coming back nor recommending this place. I've always came to Blanca's since my boyfriend took me here! But today it was a FAIL!!!! When we got to the restaurant it was empty then a family of 7 and a family of 3 came. The waiter was working in the kitchen and serving; I get it! Business might not be busy but to run a restaurant you always have to be prepared. Then a lady came from the kitchen door with a kid; I guess she works or knows the owner to a personal level because she didn't care enough to help the waiter who was doing multiple jobs. I was an assistant manager at a restaurant before and this is not the way to run a business. My boyfriend had to get up to get us something to drink and after our food was delivered no one came back to our table to check on us. I just know no more Blanca's for me!!!! Also if you have small kids... they don't have a Diaper table to change them... had to changed my kid...
