Here are some standout dishes we highly recommend: Ceviche: The yuzu lime soy sauce perfectly balances the fresh combination of tuna, salmon, mango, and avocado, elegantly served in a cocktail glass. Agedashi Tofu: This lightly fried, velvety tofu is immersed in a savory dashi broth that achieves the perfect seasoning. Chawanmushi: This delightful egg custard with a medley of seafood offers a gratifying culinary experience. Yakitori Platter: This platter features six skewers of perfectly grilled delights—chicken wings, chicken thigh, pork belly, shrimp, and king oyster mushrooms—each enhanced with a light soy-based sauce. I had the pleasure of dining at Honoo Ramen Bar, and I’m genuinely impressed by the experience. The atmosphere is modern and welcoming, with thoughtful presentation that immediately sets the tone for a quality meal. Ms. Misa served us, she was truly delightful person.
I ordered the Japanese curry with fried rice, and it was absolutely delicious — rich, savory, and comforting. The rice was flavorful on its own, and the curry had just the right balance of spice and depth. The meal came with a delightful miso soup, crunchy pickled radish, and a light bean sprout salad that complemented the main dish perfectly.
One of the highlights was the chawanmushi — a silky, savory egg custard topped with golden flakes and ikura. It was delicate, warm, and simply luxurious.
And the yakitori plate was a showstopper! Every skewer — from shrimp and chicken to eggplant and beef — was grilled to perfection. Juicy, tender, and lightly seasoned to let the natural flavors shine.
The service was kind and attentive, and everything was served on beautiful tableware that made the experience feel extra special.
Whether you’re craving comforting ramen, elegant small plates, or flavorful grilled bites, Honoo Ramen Bar is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming...
Read moreThis place should be classified as Chinese, or at the very least, fusion. I am a huge fan of Chinese cuisine including hotpot and anything mala, but when I go to a Japanese place I expect to eat some authentic Japanese food - meaning no sichuan pepper in my ramen, no warm rice for my sushi.
I was here for lunch and got Tonkotsu Ramen and Sushi platter. The broth didn't feel thick at all but a lot of peppercorns (Which Japanese people don't put in their pork broth) and the rice for sushi was warm, as if they had been just taken out from rice cooker - the worst sushi I've ever had in my life.
The server was kind, but he never checked in and nor refilled my water.
All in all, I will probably never come back - the sushi with warm rice is unheard of. Maybe this is some people's cup of tea but I will tell you that it's not authentic Japanese...
