Today was the first time I had to visit this place as i wanted to try from so many days. And I'm an Indian and I know very well how to cook the Indian food. And I also know the taste of most of thw Indian food. I only given rating one because I dint have oprion to give zero ratings. The reason behind to give 0 is, this place does not know how to cook the indian food. Whatever I had today it was uncooked. They gave onion pakoda which is basic food every indian get in all the places in Indian. Pakoda was horrible it was brown from outside and from inside it was not even cooked. This was horrible with first taste. Then the chicken tikka, it wasnt cooked and taste was horrible you should never go to this place have Indian food. I don't know how people have voted so much to this place. I mostly believe all American have voted who does not even the real taste of Indian food. I would suggest to all Americans and Indians, it's a waste of money to go to this place. Drive little bit you will have good food around this area. I have visited most of the Indian restaurants around this area and this is the worst indian food I have ever experienced. And I have also noticed they don't even have much options in buffe area, only two vegie curry option which were just horrible in taste and also one chicken curry which is butter chicken and worst butter chicken which ever had, no taste and not even cooked. Please don't even try to to this place, if you want to waste your money and health then you can go. Because I never get stomach ache in my life but after eating food I had to visit hospital in the urgent care. And Doctor said it was all due to the food which I had in the afternoon. I humble request to everyone who is reading this. Please give this guy a zero rating so no one should go to this place....
Read moreFood Quality (5/5): My family and I have been eating here for two decades, which should say everything you need to know.
1a. Food Recommendations: Consider trying the Samundar Ki Begam (Salmon Curry) and Kaali Makhini Daal (Lentil Curry). The mango lassi (fruity yogurt drink) is also an experience.
1b. Spice Level Accommodation (5/5): For those of us who can barely tolerate the spiciness of mayonnaise, this place is very accommodating. While the spice is definitely there, it is easy to acclimatize within 1-2 bites. If you prefer spiciness at Dante's Inferno level, then I'm sure you can ask for it.
Service (5/5): The servers are excellent and remember regulars. They are dressed well and are polite. Service speed is pretty good. Expect a 15-20 minute wait, depending on how large your order is.
Atmosphere (5/5): It may not have the glitz and glamor of a super high-end restaurant, but it has a lot of charm. Beautiful artwork is everywhere, wonderful scents flow through the dining area, and relaxing Indian music accents the sounds of the area. The tables are clean with spotless table cloth. It is worth bringing a date here.
Value for Money (5/5): The prices have risen over the years; however, those who appreciate Indian cuisine are unlikely to be too price-sensitive. Furthermore, the portions are generous, so it is possible to split one meal across two days.
Consistency (4.5/5): This is the only negative quality of the restaurant. It seems like they rotate chefs. Most of the time the meals create joyous celebrations, but occasionally the meals will be quite good but not great.
Convenience (5/5): The parking lot is incredibly spacious and close to the restaurant. While it is a 30-minute drive for us, it is worth it. Take out is...
Read moreDelicious authentic Indian food! Thanks to fellow Yelper, Elizabeth C, who recommended Haandi amid Covid-19 and glad to try it out! Delivery on Doordash is great, food came at scheduled time piping hot! It was even hot an hour after delivery and didn't need to be reheated. Happy to support this small business!
My hubby and I splurged and treated ourselves to a feast - Navratan Korma, Malai Kofta, Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer, Naan, and Samosa! The food tends to be a little bit on the spicier side with generous portions. If you want mild, indicate it.
Malai Kofta (5/5) - The creamy gravy was hands-down my favorite and bursting with flavor! While the potato croquette kofta was soft and tasted fresh, it was a bit dense.
Tikka Masala (5/5) - My hubby devoured the dish, I'll take his word on it!
Palak Paneer (4/5) - Quite creamy and didn't have the traditional forest green thick chunky texture. Nonetheless, the gravy was tasty with a spicy kick! The homemade paneer was fresh and surprisingly soft and tender.
Navratan Korma (3/5) - While the creamy gravy was loaded with mixed veggies and broccoli and carrots, my mouth was on fire! Spice 6 in Vienna has better Korma.
Samosa (5/5) - Nice and crispy, good size packed with aloo potatoes and mutter peas.
Naan (4/5) - The naan was a bit doughy and dense on the edges, Spice 6 and Punjab by Nature have better naan.
We enjoyed our feast with plenty of leftovers! Once Covid-19 is over, excited to...
