Craving Fresh, Flavorful Vietnamese? Here’s What You Need to Know! šŸœšŸ„–šŸ”„ If you’re on the hunt for authentic, customizable, and convenient Vietnamese food, Roll Play might be on your radar. But before you go, here’s what you need to know to avoid the common pitfalls and get the best experience possible! āœ… What’s Worth Trying? 🄩 Oxtail Pho – Flavorful, rich, and perfect for pho lovers (just wish it was filled to the top!). 🌯 Banh Mi Sandwich – Black pepper beef steak + crispy French baguette = a win! šŸ„— Saigon Bowl with Lemongrass Chicken – Big portions, fresh flavors, and satisfying balance. 🄢 Vegetarian Egg Rolls – Crispy, addictive, and paired with the perfect dipping sauce. āŒ What to Watch Out For Some menu items lack the bold flavors you’d expect. Prices run a bit high compared to other Vietnamese spots. Takeout is fast, but portion sizes can be inconsistent. If you’re sensitive to MSG, be mindful—it’s present in some dishes. šŸ’” Pro Tip: Stick to their signature dishes, and if you're ordering online, double-check your order before heading out.

šŸ”„ Bonus Hack for the Best Night In! šŸ”„ Looking for top-shelf bud to pair with your pho feast? Skip the mid-tier delivery hassles and check out PullUpDC—they offer premium, hassle-free cannabis delivery with top-quality strains (no guessing games). šŸŒæšŸ’Ø Oh, and there’s a special offer right now—free 3.5g! So, whether you’re in for a cozy night or grabbing a quick bite, make it an experience with the best food + the best bud. šŸ† Would I come back? For the pho & egg rolls, absolutely. Just know what...

I used to LOVE their original location in Tysons. Sadly, like any other restaurant that expanded, prices have gone wayyyy up and the food quality has gone wayyyy down.

The mįŗ¹ fried rice, while flavorful, definitely did not spend enough time on the stove. Ingredients were lukewarm and not well-mixed. I imagined they threw everything together, throw down some oil, shook the pan for 30 seconds, and then served it to me. It was the biggest disappointment of the meal.

The bƔnh mƬ was good, but not enough salt.

The idea of a side of phở broth is genius (why don’t more restaurants do this?). We got 2 bowls. Both were lukewarm and not very flavorful. Too much MSG and not enough bones in the broth.

The rolls were ok… not enough flavor in the chicken. The shrimp was extremely mid.

The restaurant layout is awful. It’s clear they want to discourage dine-in as much as possible. 3 wably high tops and loud music while lots of people were around us waiting for their orders.

Service was good. Ordering was fast and easy.

The price for this was $60… that’s a LOT for fast casual.

It used to be worth it for us to go and enjoy some novel Viet food. Now it’s no longer worth it. I’m sad about this as Roll Play used to be SUCH a treat. Now you’d be better off going to Eden Center again. The food won’t be as expensive, tastes about the same, and there’s space...

I ordered door dash through here once and LOVED IT. Ordered something different a second time, specifically asked for NO PORK because I will get sick. Loved the food so much, I drove 1 hour and 20 min round trip to pick it up since I live in Manassas. Get home to see that they added pork (it was the spicy hue noodles, and they only added like 3 pieces of beef, but lots of ham.) I called the place immediately and they said they would issue a refund for just that item ($17 of a $40 order) and apologized. I agreed because the rest of the food was made correctly, threw out the noodles because I can’t eat them and got on with my day. After 4 days and not seeing any proof of that $17 on my card statement, I called again and the person told me they didn’t have the power to issue refunds and took my name and number to give to management. Haven’t received any call yet. Makes me wonder if whoever I called on the day of lied to me about giving me a refund. This experience has soured this place to me, and the people who run this place apparently don’t care about their customers.

Gonna give it another week before I contact my bank and see if disputing is an option since part of my order (which was almost HALF the cost) was made incorrectly and the refund I was promised...

If you’re looking for authenticity, definitely don’t go here, the dishes are very Americanized and 100% marketed towards health-conscious, trendy young folks…which is interesting lol. To be honest, I only came here because I had a gift card. But!! I ended up being pleasantly surprised by the food, their cha gio was delicious, and I actually very much enjoyed the spicy oxtail pho (although it’s not spicy whatsoever). Would I say it tasted like pho? Not reaaaally. But just objectively going on flavor, it tasted great, and there was a ton of oxtail provided! If you’re gonna go here, I would 100% get that dish. Taking off one star just because having ā€œViet Street Foodā€ in the title is a little…misleading lol it definitely should be ā€œViet-Americanā€ or maybe ā€œViet Inspired.ā€

Probably one of the worst pho spots I’ve had in the DMV area. The service here was terrible, no one greeted us nor spoke to us while we were there. The broth was okay, however the meat was super tough and extremely hard to eat. Noodles were bleh, My partner and I could not finish the meal. The spring rolls came with burnt filling which was really gross, literally spat it out. Overall… it was over priced for what they give and we definitely won’t be coming back.

Had a tasty bowl of oxtail pho. Partner got regular beef pho. Small place geared as much for takeout as eat in. Ordering on a screen when you enter limits any pesky interpersonal communication - who needs it in this fast paced trendy culture we’re in. Food came pretty quickly; it tasted good; the place is open ā€˜til 1 a.m. I’ll remember that if I’m ever up that late.
