Side Chick by Ellie Bird — Restaurant in Falls Church

We enjoyed our Side Chick lunch and would order again, but were disappointed in the lack of spice/flavor in the chicken. It had a nice crisp, but very negligible spice. I wondered if we’d received mild on accident, but the box had a chili pepper sticker on top. If the chicken had been better, I think it would have been a more standout meal.

The side sampler was a fun way to try everything! The kimchi potato salad was great, and had way more kick than the “spicy” chicken. (And it’s a bit spicy but definitely not overly so, for context.) I liked the cucumbers and slaw too, and my daughter loved the mac n cheese.

We’d order it again but I guess go for the spiciest chicken. I wish we could have ordered extra slices of cornbread on the side, maybe they’ll consider adding that as an option. I’m curious about some of the desserts, we’ll have to try...

The chicken sandwich was good, but I’d give them a little more time to get settled! I’d like to have a choice of dark or light meat, as the chicken sandwich is a thigh. The sandwich was soggy when we got home, but that’s expected with the slaw and sauces. Next time I’ll ask for those on the side.

Chicken is good, portion sizes are weird. We ( 3 adults) got the whole chicken feast - and between us we only finished 1/2 the chicken but the meal comes with only 2 pieces of bread and the sides are small. Next time we’ll order more sides.
