I had called before I drove in and was told there were no seats the bar. Walked by and there were two open seats. As I sat down I was ignored for about 10 minutes as the servers used the computer in front of me to cash out other patrons. I asked the server for a recommendation and she insisted on the lasagne. I don’t prefer a bechemal sauce an opted for the pomodora and asked for a meatball or protein. Here’s where it goes downhill! I was sternly berated that we are an “authentic Northern Italian restaurant and meatballs are for Americans.” I apologized (why?) and ordered the bolognese. My entree was the worst tiny portion of dry bolognese I’ve ever had. I waited and then promptly and politely told the bartender that it was very dry and lacked any flavor. She berated me again a saying I don’t know what a good bolognese is, and what do I want then? At this point 3 other single women have sat at the bar and been treated EXTREMELY POORLY by her. So bad that everybody was asking each other what they did or said to upset her so badly. She complained the entire service about summer people and getting it over. Everyone at her bar was polite, engaging and kind. Asking her what her personal recommendations were or just trying to chat. She was curt and short with other staff as well. At the end of my dinner she had an entire bar leave extremely upset and the manager WAS notified and witnessed everything but absolutely did not care. For food sake alone I’m sure it’s a fine restaurant… This experience was one of the most uncomfortable and stressful fine dining experiences of my life. I would never...
Read moreUpdate 2024: excited to come back this summer again and it was delicious! Last year the olives in the salad were the same castlevetrano and this year they were not which was disappointing. I was also able to switch pasta for the pomodoro dish as I get sick of only spaghetti. The rigatoni was delish! My partner was so looking forward to their basil pesto dish again but unfortunately they switched it to a sun dried tomato pesto, which was delicious and creamy, but not as good as the basil pesto. Another couple nearby also said they were disappointed the basil pesto was not available as well. Please bring back! Also, please put some gliders on the outdoor chairs as the scraping across the stone floor on the patio was so annoying; the noise is overwhelming when it’s full of people out there. Oh and the affogato dessert was delish! Definitely get that - the espresso was so yummy!!
2023: Wonderful place and atmosphere. They make their own pasta in-house! Yay. I definitely only love to eat homemade fresh pasta, if feels better in my system and this place was delish. Their pesto was yummy as well. Oh and the olives they have are my favorite olives (just a funny coincidence). The only thing was that I thought the bread and olive oil was on the cheap side. Not the best in comparison to everything else. Sadly. The Rosso di Toscana wine 🍷 was absolutely lovely! Get a glass! Sitting outside was very nice but a little warm. Wish they had some oscillating fans above to help move sit around in the summer. Our server was wonderful as well. Very lovely. Can’t wait to go again...
Read moreI went there for the first time craving spaghetti carbonara. I was told, if I wanted authentic Italian food I should check out this restaurant, because they make homemade pasta and great Italian dishes. So I drove an hour to try my favorite dish. Spaghetti carbonara is made with egg yolk pecorino Romano and Guanciale or pancetta. Which is the traditional Italian way of making spaghetti carbonara. The server at the restaurant were very pleasant, the atmosphere was nice and the bartender was great. I took a quick glance at the menu and it looked very appetizing . they had a lot of good options. So I ordered my spaghetti carbonara. I was served my dish and I was so disappointed. It was made with bacon and parmesan cheese. And not with pancetta ( pork fat) and pecorino cheese( pecorino Romano is salty and flaky) . It’s disappointing when you take a long ride to a restaurants to eat a dish that you can get at a local pizzeria( commercial).
They had so many other great dishes. if you don’t have the right ingredients, I think as a customer I should of be told. At least give me the option to choose something else instead. unfortunately I was...
