Oh my, very delicious! Came down to Falmouth for Memorial Day weekend and my husband's birthday. We tried to get in on a Sat but all booked up. But we reserved a table for early dinner on Sun. We went into town, shopped around, went back to hotel and got ready. Arrived with live acoustic music and singer. Very pleasant. Then lights dimmed and candles were lit on tables. I ordered a french rose wine, the girls had Shirley temples. We all had the calamari for shared app with four people, plenty for all, generous portion. Spicy and tangy but tasty, you have to mix it in (sauce was at the bottom). It was hot and crispy. I and my oldest ordered the lobster and asparagus ravioli with cream sauce, my husband the salmon piccola, and my other daughter ordered the pesto tortellini dish. Everyone was pleased. Dessert included tiramisu (very fresh cream and robust cinnamon flavor), the chocolate three layer cake with fudgy middle layer and mascarpone frosting. And my oldest daughter ordered the creme brulee dessert. All very delicious! We also had cappuccino and espresso, again, very tasty.

I invited my wife, daughter and in-laws to dinner at La Cucina Sul Mare, and while the staff and hostesses were very friendly and welcoming, the food was disappointing. I understand it’s peak tourist season on the Cape, but I expected better from a place that’s been around for 24 years. The pan-tossed calamari was soggy and tasted like it had been defrosted in a rush. Both my wife's Chicken Napoleon and father-in-law's Veal Saltimbocca were overcooked. My daughter's Gnocchi Bolognese were oddly hard, possibly from being overcooked, and the serving size was padded with sauce rather than substance. The Bolognese itself was mostly shredded meat and didn’t taste freshly made. The only acceptable dish was my mother-in-laws' Pomodoro Fresco, but that’s just basic pasta and tomato sauce. The Cioppino I ordered had potential, but every piece of seafood in the dish was overcooked, which ruined the flavor and texture. We all walked out disappointed. Locals and tourists deserve better.

We went there Saturday night at 4:30 for an early dinner. We were seated by the host a young man with dark hair. He brought us to the dining room and sat us at the back next to the kitchen. I asked if we could sit closer to the window because there was an entire empty dining room with about 20 tables and he said that they were all reserved. I could understand if it was 8:00 pm but it was only 4:30 and no one was there. We sat down and then I went into the bar area which was mostly empty and asked if we could sit in there. He said we could sit at the back table near a bunch of boxes. I was completely mortified. We decided to leave. We go out to dinner all the time. We are local and felt like we were being treated very poorly. We will never go back there.

It was for a special occasion, my birthday, that we chose La Cucina Sul Mare. The Good: The menu is wonderfully large enough to fulfill anyone's palate. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were delicious. My dinner, sweet potato encrusted scrod was also delicious. It was a Friday night and it was very busy. After being seated there was a good delay before our waitress came to our table with menus. We placed our drink order and eventually our waitress came to the table to say she held back putting in our drink order bc the bar was backed up. No worries, we were happily catching up with each other. Our dinners were delayed coming out as well. The Bad: At the end of the night, after ordering coffee, the hostess came to our table to say we had to leave; that we had stayed too long and that she needed the table for another party! We explained we stayed as long as we did bc of the delays getting drinks and food. She said "it wasn't her problem"!!!! Immediately the tone of the night went from happy and relaxed to angst. My son gulped down his coffee; mine had not been delivered yet. We called our waitress over to explain what happened; to cancel my coffee and ask for the check. The waitress tried to assuage us explaining they're short on help and that's the reason for the delays. For us, the pleasantness of the evening was gone. We left after paying the bill (the waitress comped my margarita and my son's coffee). We're sorry we didn't speak to management so they knew, real-time, what just happened. I hope they find a policy to correct this situation from happening to another guest. I might add, we arrived exactly at our reservation time. All the delays were out of...

We visited this place on a Friday night in July. We were seated on the back patio, which looked pleasant enough. Everyone liked their meals. I ordered the halibut special, which was not cooked all the way through, but was alright. While clearing dishes, a server spilled marinara sauce all over my white shorts, down my leg, and on to my sandals. I asked the server to remove my dish from the bill. One of the owner's came over and told me they would pay for the dry cleaning instead. I told her that the shorts were ruined and I did not want to try dry cleaning them. She proceeded to tell me that the stain was not that bad and my wife should know how to remove the stain when she does my laundry! That is when I took offense and told her that was not good enough and she walked off. When we got the bill, we found they had added the tip in with the explanation of large party. We had 5 adults and 2 babies! We paid the bill in full minus the tip, which roughly equaled my meal. Our party went our separate ways once out on the street. I was alone carrying my one year old daughter when the other owner who was also the chef, ran up behind me on the street with one of the waiters. He proceeded to yell at me in a very threatening manner while I was holding my one year old daughter. I felt very threatened. I explained myself as I had to his wife, turned my back, and walked away. These people should not be business owners with the way they conducted themselves. I would warn anyone and everyone against visiting this place...

Have heard wonderful reviews about this place. Our usual Italian place was closed, so we decided to finally try it. Went in knowing it would be more of an American Italian restaurant. Server was outstanding. App was great, and many near by apps people were eating while we were waiting looked appealing. We felt like getting just a good bowl of pasta and I was surprised at the limited pasta selections. 2 in our party got the fettuccine with Bolognese and a big meatball, which was cooked al dented and very good. Bread with meal was good, would have been better warm, and the roasted garlic in the olive oil was the plus. The low review though, is based on the awful 3rd bowl of pasta. Italian sausage with rapini and Orecchiette pasta. The pasta was so over cooked and with no flavor, the rapini also over cooked which made it much more bitter than it should have been and the sausages were whole and making the whole dish just unappealing. This dish would have been better if the sausage were out of the casing and combined with al dente pasta and the rabe was not so over cooked. I ate minimal amount and one sausage. Didn’t even want to take it home. I’ve had this meal at other restaurants and was really looking forward to it. That being said, dessert was fabulous. Will give them another chance at some...
