Our recent family visit to the Culver’s in South Rochester exceeded expectations with its warm atmosphere, delicious food, and well‑managed flow. Pulling into the spacious parking lot at 28th St SE, we appreciated how easy it was to park—even during the early evening rush.
Inside, the open dining area was clean and inviting, with a cozy, farmhouse-style décor. The friendly team greeted us promptly at the counter, and the line moved quickly thanks to their steady efficiency. They offered helpful suggestions—my youngest loved the kid’s ButterBurger, while I opted for the walleye sandwich after overhearing another family rave about it.
The food arrived fresh and hot within minutes. The walleye sandwich was crisp and flavorful, just as promised. The cheese curds were satisfyingly crunchy, and the butter burger lived up to its name—juicy, juicy, and comforting. For dessert, the fresh‑frozen custard was smooth and rich; the flavor of the day—Snickers Swirl—was a family favorite that evening.
The service throughout our visit was consistently upbeat and attentive. Staff members actively checked on tables, refilled drinks, and cleared trays quickly. It created a welcoming, relaxed vibe that felt perfect for families.
From a convenience standpoint, we enjoyed the drive-thru as a backup option if dining-in wasn’t viable. Restrooms were spotless, with sanitizer stations available. Seating included booths, tables, and a few high-tops, accommodating both families and individuals. The open layout allowed us to keep an eye on the kids easily.
There were only minor drawbacks. Peak times can make it a bit loud and bustling, although for us that was more energizing than chaotic. The playground area we hoped for wasn’t present, so we made do with some drinks while planning the rest of the evening.
For anyone visiting with family, I’d recommend:
– Arriving slightly before traditional meal times to avoid longer lines. – Trying the walleye sandwich or the ButterBurger for a classic Midwest taste. – Splitting an order of cheese curds—they’re big enough to share. – Checking the flavor-of-the-day custard options—you might discover a new favorite. – Having the drive-thru phone number handy as a backup if eat‑in is full.
Overall, Culver’s in South Rochester delivered what it promised: dependable, satisfying meals, warm hospitality, and a family-friendly environment. It’s that reliable comfort food experience that we returned to the car feeling happy, full, and eager to plan...
Read moreWe love Culver's food but lately the service has been mediocre at best.(25th st restaurant) A while back I had went through the drive thru and the sticky note they have you put on the mirror had blown out of my hand. The associate saw it blow away and had said don't worry just pull up, they won't forget me. I was there over an hour by the time she came with my food and when I got home it was an entire different order. Today I ordered food at 753 and received food at 816. Two plain burgers and one no onion. I received 1 plain, 1 no mayo, and one regular. The family size cheesecurds were half the size that we normally get. It has been difficult to want to go back because we never know what mishap will be next and 25min to an hour is a long wait for pre-ordered fast food. My neighbor was up at culvers at the same time, he was in pjs and said he was there 45min before he went in upset. He received the wrong ice cream. I added that as he is a Culver's fan like us and is just as disappointed. I hope something can be fixed to bring Culver's back to our...
Read moreI’m actually surprised at how horrible my experience was at this establishment.
My boyfriend and I walked in and our order was taken right away. I went in to use the bathroom and it was disgusting. I let the cashier know and we ordered our food. We received cold fries and lukewarm burgers. My boyfriend let them know not 1, not 2, but all THREE ketchup dispensers were out of ketchup. No one bothered filling them.
We then heard what we thought was a domestic dispute happening in the restaurant, but to our surprise, it was the manager yelling at one of the staff members.
I went in to use the washroom after eating and it looked like one of the toilets had been flushed and not cleaned. The other - not so much.
I don’t expect much from fast food places but this was just absolutely pathetic. If I wanted dinner and a show I would have pulled out some rerun Jerry Springer episodes. (RIP).
