New Mandarin Garden is a Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall in Farmington Hills. While the exterior may be unassuming, the interior is beautifully decorated with traditional Chinese art and furniture, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The menu at New Mandarin Garden is extensive, featuring a variety of traditional Chinese dishes as well as some more unique offerings. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for a family dinner or a night out with friends.
The standout menu item at New Mandarin Garden is their crispy duck. The skin is perfectly crispy, and the meat is juicy and flavorful. It is served with traditional Chinese pancakes, scallions, and hoisin sauce, allowing you to wrap your own duck pancakes to your liking. It is a must-try dish!
In addition to the crispy duck, the menu also includes a variety of other delicious dishes, such as the Mongolian Beef, which is cooked to perfection with a spicy kick, and the General Tso's Chicken, which is crispy and flavorful.
The service at New Mandarin Garden is exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to provide recommendations or answer any questions. Although the manger or owner can get very stressed and be quite angry and short at times.
Overall, New Mandarin Garden is an outstanding Chinese restaurant that is definitely worth a visit. With delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service, it's easy to see why it's a popular destination in Farmington Hills. I would highly recommend it and give it a 5 out of 5...
Read moreI tried New Mandarin Garden for the first time on a to-go order which was placed late on a Saturday night. The order was taken expediently by Gary, I even called back to add soup after the initial order. The order was ready when I arrived and packed expertly. They were even kind enough to warn me to put it on the floor or on something level so that it didn't spill. It was packed so beautifully there was no way it was going to even tip over. Upon arrival at home I dug in. It was delicious and exceeded my expectations. I had spring roll which was delicious flaky crust and wonderful filling. I had the vegetable tofu soup a departure from my usual wonton and I was not disappointed. The veggies were crisp and the broth was delicious. My main entree was the double happy family which I turned into a triple happy family for an extra $2 I added chicken. It was scrumptious and very generous with the shrimp and meat they did not "scrimp on the shrimp" like many places do. Generous serving size. It was a wonderful, positive experience, exactly what I had hoped for and more! Exceeded my expectations -- I look forward to coming back and eating in next time -- but is now my preferred GO-TO for TO-GO Chinese food!! Highly recommend...
Read moreWell to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I've been coming here my entire life... With my grandparents, aunts, uncles and immediate family. Everything from holidays to family celebrations. It was a staple in my childhood and young adulthood. My husband and I picked up a carry out. We placed our order at 7:34pm and was told 20-25 minutes. We arrived, paid and then proceeded to wait until 8:20. No one communicated a longer wait. We just waited and waited. Then our food was brought out with a quick sorry for the wait. We drove home and opened up our dinners. My husband's chicken was far from well done, our second rice looked like it was only 3/4 way filled and my shrimp fried rice had some shrimp just thrown on top. This was far from my 20+ years experience. My husband called to try and communicate what happened and the man on the phone completely disregarded him. Didn't care about the time or food issues. I'm really sad to say I don't think it's worth the trip anymore. I can understand mistakes happen but when a customer brings it to your attention you don't even say anything back or attempt to create a resolution... that is beyond...
