*Best Buy Experience on 10/02/2024* I visited the West Hartford Best Buy store to replace my faulty TV. The sales associate helped me find a used TV that met my needs, despite being new to the job. However, the transaction process took 45 minutes due to technical difficulties. Before finalizing the purchase, my wife expressed interest in an iPad. I asked the associate to wait so we could combine the purchases for a 12-month, no-interest financing option. Unfortunately, the associate quickly rang up the TV purchase separately. Upon reviewing the TV's details online, I discovered the open-box model had three price points: $563 (fair), $597 (good), and $630 (excellent). I paid $642, which was higher than the fair condition price listed on the website. When I brought this to the associate's attention, he refused to adjust the price I showed him it was missing the legs and remote and a scratch in the back which falls in fair condition. I decided to return the TV and look for it at an another location. At the customer service desk, I explained the situation to the representative, who apologized and offered to find an excellent condition TV in stock. However, after waiting 30 minutes, another associate informed me that the original employee had gone home for the day without resolving my issue. As a loyal customer, having purchased numerous electronics from Best Buy (including Samsung 8K TVs, Frame TVs, and Alienware), I'm disappointed in the poor customer service. This experience has led me to consider taking my business to PC Richard's, a local retailer carrying similar merchandise. *Key Issues:* 1. Inefficient transaction process 2. Price discrepancy 3. Lack of resolution 4. Poor communication 5. Unapologetic service *Suggested Improvements:* 1. Enhance employee training 2. Streamline transaction processes 3. Ensure price consistency 4. Improve communication and empathy 5. Prioritize customer satisfaction

Update: Samsung came out and repaired the screen, which they said was broken. The Samsung process was easy and the tech was great. Best Buy refused to help and blamed me for the damage to a brand new TV. Thumbs up and five stars for Samsung and their service. Thumbs down and no stars awarded to Best Buy. Never shopping there again. Period. Original Post: I have been a Best Buy customer for years and we have purchased TVs, appliances, a Sonos Soundsystem, and lots of other products from them over the years. After my experience with their Customer service staff at the store West Hartford, I will no longer be a customer. There are too many options of places to spend my money for the goods that Best Buy sells and after my experience there trying to return a TV that had an issue with the screen, I no longer believe they stand by their products. We purchased a 43 inch Samsung Frame TV that seems to have an issue with some of the backlighting and there is a bright spot on the screen. When I brought the TV back to get it fixed or exchange it (less than a week after taking it out of the box), they pointed out two small scratches that were not noticeable to the naked eye and insinuated that I had broken the TV and they would not honor a return. The customer service rep, Jeff, was dismissive, rude at times, and most importantly, not helpful. His only remedy was allowing me to take a picture of a card with the Samsung customer service phone number so that I could call the manufacturer directly. With all the retail and online options to shop these days, they need to do something more to earn my business. Very disappointed in the outcome.

*Update talked to bestbuy corporate and they didnt care at all they still dont believe a stolen ipad was sold despite the proof shown.* Let me start by saying I always shop at bestbuy before ordering online. Im a total tech member and I spend a lot of money here. The experience I had at this store will probably end my business with bestbuy totally. Bought a open box Ipad with cellular functionality and head to att to add it to my plan. ATT runs the imei and the ipad was reported stolen. I go back to west hartford bestbuy and immediately ask to speak to a manager. I show the manager the information att gave me proving the ipad is stolen and he wont listen to me doesn't want to see the proof. He sends me to the att desk in store to try to activate it in store. The people that activate phones in store cant activate it because once again IT IS FLAGGED STOLEN. I ask the manager for an exchange and he doesn't want to do it. The manager even claimed he would put it back on the shelf for someone else to buy. I did finally get a refund but the fact that the manager wouldn't admit that the ipad was clearly reported stolen is ridiculous. He claims he will resell the ipad as open box in store so beware. So my girlfriend and I went to this store to look at purchasing the Google Pixel book. While I was looking around at the other computers that they had in the store my girlfriend had to go to the bathroom. I was being helped by a very nice and helpful sales rep in the computer department. There actually was a couple of the Samsung Pro Chromebooks in the open box cage. I asked if the prices on the boxes were fixed or if they were flexible. The gentleman that I was being helped by was unable to make any judgement on prices so he went to get his supervisor. The supervisor went to go look at prices and after roughly 15 minutes he comes back and acts like I wasn't even there he explains to the sales rep that the prices were marked actually lower that they should of been but they would honor the prices. The entire time that he was explaining this the supervisor didn't look at me, the customer who would actually be buying the computer, he was only speaking to the sales rep. Then once my girlfriend got back from the bathroom we walked to walk around a bit more and talk about if we wanted to go with the open box computer or the Pixelbook. She had seen a steamer that caught her attention she wanted me to look at. When she shows me the steamer i see the price tag below the one she liked had said $11.99, obviously that price seemed a little off so I went to find another salesman to confirm this. When the gentleman came over he told me that the sku number on the display unit matched the sku on the price tag and the model number matched as well. Below this was the actual unit for sale, he wanted a confirmation on the price as well so he went to go find the store manager. So the manager comes over who I believe his name was Michael, he looks at everything and said the model number is different but the salesman showed him that everything is correct. So the manager takes the price tag and walks away saying that they wont honor the price because there is supposed to be cleaner in front of the display unit and the $11.99 was for a bottle of cleaner. Just like the supervisor I had contact with before, the manager spoke only to the salesman and not to me, the customer. So I started talking to the manager directly and explaining it from the customers point of view and went back and forth for a little while. The manager, wouldn't look at me, and just kept repeating the same thing of "there should of been a bottle of cleaner but they were out of stock". The model numbers matched, the sku matched, the ups matched, everything matched and it was just a price mistake on Best Buy's part and the manager knew that. Given the fact that he threw away the price tag after taking it, also I doubt that Bissell would want their display product blocked by bottles of cleaner. So after all of this I left the store without purchasing anything. I usually go to the West Simsbury location for my Best Buy needs but was in the area so I went to this one. As a very loyal best Buy customer who has spent over $3000 at those stores in 2017 I was absolutely shocked at by the terrible customer service of the store manager and supervisor. i walked into that store planning on buying a $1000 computer and because of the manager I will never walk into that store again. i hope Best Buy reads this and retrains their manager on how to deal...

Yigit (Manager) Racist Unprofessional Customer Service I really hope this review is seen: Racism in West Hartford Best Buy from Yigit (Manager)

I went to go shopping today at Best Buy in West Hartford on New Britain Ave with my friend and brother. When shopping, I noticed an Open-Box Gaming Monitor out on a shelf with no price. When I asked a customer representative the price, she gave me a range of between $300-$360 for the monitor (Regular price is $400).

As a customer of Best Buy for many years, I know that they have great promotions so I requested to speak to a manager to discuss the price. As soon as Yigit (Floor Manager) approached, he instantly had a negative tone. He told me and my friend Adam that the price is that way because it is "store policy". Ofcourse, with no box and scratches on the monitor, knocking off only acouple bucks is not a great "policy".

My friend Adam and I criticized the policy between eachother because it seems ridiculous. In a very negative tone, Yigit said "If you dont want to shop here then leave". In all of my years in retail and customer service, i would never tell a customer to leave the store. Rather, i would recommend them other products and items within the store.

After we commented that the policy was insane, he told us to leave the store and he will call 9/11. Shortly after, he calls 9/11 upon our request and stands there smiling as we were leaving. We tell the cops everything and the cops go to speak to Yigit (unprofessional floor manager). During this time, another manager (Fernando: very nice guy) approached us to hear our story and apologized. He actually agreed with us that we were treated unfairly and none of this should of happened to begin with.

Sadly, the only person who received mistreatment during this entire interaction was my friend adam who was wearing a NECKLACE of his origin (Palestine). Because of this, i know for a fact this is why he got mistreated.

After the police officer finished talking to Yigit, it turns out that we were not banned from the store, just not allowed to come in for the rest of the right. The cop ensured us that we are allowed to come in tomorrow morning, but just not that night. This clearly shows that at-least we were not banned, they know they completely messed up. I requested to get Yigits business card but was denied that…

Today was a very sad and embarrassing day, I hope Yigit gets terminated due to his behavior or corporate steps up to make the situation right. It is sad that we allow actions like this to occur in our society without speaking up about it!!!!

Ive been shopping at this best buy location for many years, and i have never been treated like this. Unfortunately, Yigit unprofessional behavior makes me disgusted at this place now. Very very very sad situation, race should not affect how customers are treated - especially because only one of us got mistreated during this...

Absolutely TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I would never shop at this location or any Best Buy after today’s experience. The service had to be so impacting for me to be writing a review immediately at this hour.

I went online to see if they had the meta glasses before I purchased else where. Unfortunately their online store only shows that you can purchase an item and then wait for pick up time. Before heading to the store, I used the online Best Buy chat to see if they had more of the items in store. The chat person stated they had it in store and he could have the order placed for me. I advised I would prefer to just go pick it up in store just wanted to know if they had it in inventory at this specific store. He said yes but it would be easier to purchase then go. I asked if it would be ready same day even with the store closing 1.75hr prior he said yes because even online said it should be ready in an hour.

I didn’t receive any pick up information after my purchase but decide to go a couple minutes before the store closed figuring it would be a last minute ready for pick up.

When I got there, even prior to 9pm they would not let me in the store when there was 7 mins to spare. I told them the dilemma above and the young man at the door Nick the only person with sense there did try to go above and beyond but his very rude night manager was nit helpful at all. I advised I would not mind canceling the order and purchasing the item they have in my face with time to spare to ring up within that 5mins prior to store closing and individuals in the store.

They continued to not let me in, did not care, nothing b it attitudes and rude remarks from the workers. Which I get it you had a long day but it’s not a holiday and to be quite honest no one cares. Don’t work in customer service especially retail if you can’t provide decent service.

Nick stated he will pick the other himself and contact me as soon as the store opens for pick up to then find out an hr later they canceled my order. Absolutely ridiculous, disgusting and terrible service. I’m not buying some $25 memory card, these are expensive glasses that are a gift for someone else. This was so unprofessional and this store has lost its value.

I would not recommend going her as most of the people here are uneducated in the products to my are selling anyone. I don’t know how someone works in in the computer department and can’t tell the difference between internal storage, RAM and the impact of the speed.

Another customer lost due to the lack of competency, compassion...
