Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Farmington

Had the worst experience in this Grand River Ave store location. Went there on Sunday Feb 26, 2023, the time was about 8:45pm and the store was supposed to be open till 9pm that night. Me and my friend reached the store 15min before closing and found that the doors were locked. But the weird part was, there were 3 employees working in the store at that time and about 3 customers waiting inside the store to get their ice cream. We tried to open the door, knocked the door, waved at the employees but they did not open the doors. After 5 minutes at 8:50pm, two more customers walked near the store to buy some ice cream but the employees completed ignored us and did not unlock the doors. Couple eye contacts also happened between us (me, my friend and 2 other customers) and the 3 employees who were working at that time, but the employees did not even had the courtesy to let know us that they have decided to shut the store 15 minutes before the actual closing time. If the store is not even bothered to server their customers at the closing hours, then it would be great to officially shut the store early and not mislead the customers by showing false store hours. The 3 customers who were inside the store waiting for the their ice cream also had a confused expression as they looking at us through the glass doors and then at the ignorant employees. Later after walking away from the store with disappointment, there were couple more people who came to store but again no one catered to them as the employees were not in the mood to do their business. I live out of state and I ordered a cake for my sister’s 28th birthday party from this location. When my family sent me photos I was angry and so embarrassed; the cake looked like it was decorated for a 5 year old’s birthday (see pictures attached). The decorator laid the Oreos flat on the cake (instead of upright like in the photos on the Cold Stone website) and they drew smiley faces on the Oreos with the icing, for no apparent reason. When I voiced my concerns to one of the managers, they didn’t appear to take any responsibility for the embarrassing cake. I didn’t even mention to him that the ingredients on the inside weren’t even correct; there were no brownies mixed in the ice cream and instead they put Oreos even though that wasn’t requested for the inside of the cake. Walk in, no one in line. Teenage employee is leaning against back counter while playing with her phone. I know she saw me walk in--I'm no petite flower of a woman and it's an open floor plan--but she continued to goof off on her phone. I waited a full minute before asking politely if she was going to help me or not. She mumbled an apology without any emotion and finally took my order.
