SHISH CUISINE — Restaurant in Farmington

The restaurant was not that crowded. What we can presume to be owner, greeted us, as he was attending the table outside. We ordered Shish combo (salad instead of soup, and french fries instead of rice). We also ordered Mediterranean Chicken wings with BBQ sauce and Greek Salad (Half) on the side. We got the order reasonably quickly. They were very attentive to guests. We got the salads first and the portion was good size. We got the chicken wings shortly thereafter. It was crunchy and was dripping the sauce. It was great. We got the Shish Combo plate at the end and the waiting was worth it. The french fries was crunchy and well-done. The meat was combo of meats. We could not finish it all so took this home. Price was fair. Quality was really good. Overall, we see ourselves coming here again. I saw someone just order juice on the go, so something we might do on a hot day in future. It seemed to be a family business and the owner was down-to-earth. THE GRAPE LEAVES!!!! The grape leaves are the best I’ve ever had from a restaurant and identical to the ones my grandmother would make. If you’ve ever made these before you know how difficult it is to make these in general, let alone nail the texture of the rice and balance flavors. Whenever I find a new Mediterranean restaurant I always ask for a sample of the grape leaves knowing that they probably won’t be what I’m looking for. This time was different. It brought tears to my eyes to be served these and taste the savory lemon goodness. Wow! It transported me back to my grandmas kitchen where I would easily eat 10+ of these. The chicken and hummus was also great. The chicken comes drenched in the marinade. Delicious. Definitely give the grape leaves a try if it’s not some thing you’ve had good experiences...

The waiter we had was beyond amazing! He was very polite and always smiling. My son spilled his drink, and I was fumbling with my baby and two other children, and being alone with my 4 children in a restaurant is already stressful. He made the spill seem like no big deal. He grabbed some rags and put it on the spill. He kept checking in on us to make sure we were taken care of. I've never experience such a great experience at a restaurant. It was our first time visiting, as we were just visiting a friend. I wish it wasn't such a long drive or we would make this our to go place. If ever we visit the area again. We would stop back in.
