It takes a lot for me to dislike a place, but this place hit all the buttons. Let me start by saying all 4 in my party thought the food was good. However, when we first entered [10:30 on a weekday], I first saw the sign that said there was a 90 minute time limit. Really?? So my party spent $120-150 and you think I need a time limit? Second, they tried to seat 4 of us at a table that might have measured 3' x 3". Again, really?? And where do you expect us to put our food? I can't speak to my friends' food, but I ordered blueberry pancakes. It was served with a small cup of maple syrup, but the pancakes have been spread with blueberry syrup. In my book, maple and blueberry don't mix. I asked for a serving of blueberry syrup. When it came, I was informed there was an upcharge. For the 3rd time, REALLY? $1.50 for an ounce of blueberry syrup??? The icing on the cake was the bill. It arrived with 2 different prices--one for cash and one for credit. This seems to have become a common practice these days. When I had my own business, we absorbed the cost of credit cards as just good business. This felt like nickel and diming. OK. So I paid with cash to avoid the upcharge. NO advance warning, although I checked the website first. I'm getting more irritated by the minute. When the waitress arrives with my change, she gives me $11 change for a $28.62 bill. Wait, what??? New math? When I pointed out to her my change was short, she said it's policy to round up. OK, at this point I'm pretty steaming mad. I understand the amount here is next to nothing, however, that is not the point. You're going to keep MY money because it is YOUR policy to round up? Without saying anything or asking??? She gave me the correct change money when I started complaining, but by then I was done. I WILL NOT BE BACK. The owner is doing everything wrong. I could say I hope you fail, but you don't need my bad wishes. You're going to fail all on your own...
Read moreEnjoyed breakfast on Juneteenth at 11:30 am. It was very busy with a 35 min wait for two. They take your phone number and text when table is ready, but oddly , we got an actual phone call with message that said "Your Table at Blueberry Brunch is ready." Glad I answered even though number had an out of state area code. We spent time waiting by shopping in T J Maxx. So, time flew by. We got seated at a high top by front window and enjoyed the activity. The restaurant is loud, so keep that in mind for your business lunches. Service was very good. Nice college aged servers and the two young men working the front as hosts were a friendly and accommodating team and helped out by filling our coffee and bringing us syrup.
Ordered the sweet potato bowl, the lemon poppyseed and blueberry pancakes, side of links, and two coffees for $40. Reasonable prices. Food was hot and quality ingredients. Didn't have that Gordon's food service from frozen quality like at The Breakfast Club, which used to be good, but has suffered from cheaper quality of food. (Remember when their chorizo bowls were good? But, I digress.) One of the owners, the builder, Victor, cleared our plates and we chatted with him. Very charming man. If you see him, you will know what I mean ;).
The menu selection at Blueberry Brunch is excellent and we highly recommend. (Hey, I just remember that I was supposed to get whole grain toast with my bowl, and never got it! So, be aware if getting all you ordered matters. Just one of the kinks of a new restaurant...
Read moreA friend and I went to this restaurant for the first time because we figured brunch places are good for socializing. We were meeting to drink coffee, have breakfast and catch up. After waiting 15 minutes for a table, we were sat at a high top table with uncomfortable wooden chairs and the table wobbled. Given there were several other tables available at this point, I requested to be moved to a booth. The hostess informed me that there was only one other table we could move to (not a booth) because I needed to stay in my servers section. While not ideal, I understand the politics of food service and moved to the other table without protest. My friend and I ordered 3 coffees and two breakfasts between us. Within minutes of my friend finishing her second latte and only an hour after we were seated, we were asked to leave to make room for other customers. We were not asked by our waitress if we wanted anything else (we may have ordered additional specialty coffees), and we were handed the bill before we were done eating. We were respectful to the workers, but I felt very disrespected given we were paying customers and had not been there an unreasonable amount of time. While the food was decent, we will not be returning or recommending the restaurant to anyone because Iâve never been pushed out of the door and felt less welcome at an establishment. I would discourage anyone who wants to socialize from going to...
