I’m very disappointed in this burger place. from the moment we walked in you could feel the unwelcoming atmosphere. you could feel here comes black people! we sat down an no one was in there, the waitress took her time to walk down an asked you know what you want or do you need a menu? I said menu please, that should have told her they are new to the place. she said i’ll give you two but there were three of us. we then ordered 2 cheese burgers 4 fish sandwiches chicken tenders 2 double cheeseburgers 2 chill fries with cheese three pops.. yeah we are greedy lol.. again no one is there but us at the time. she handed the order over to the cook and they chatted for a minute then she took forever to bring our drinks. food began to come an i asked for extra tarter sauce and pickles my husband was finish eating one of his fish sandwiches before we got what i asked for. she bought chill fries and no fork, i had to wait until we were half way through them before she brought the fork. the place began to fill up. she treated the white customers with the up most respect gave them refills on drinks which she never asked or checked on us until she noticed we were almost done. i had to ask for a box twice an then i handed her a $100 bill to pay she never gave us a bill bought my change an i tipped her $10 dollars so after we got the hell out of there i noticed i had $30 an some change left. so it was $70 to eat at a place that clearly does not want black people there. let’s talk about the food! fish over cooked chicken tenders over cooked fries over cooked ketchup spoiled on the red bottles. chilli sauce nasty an the burgers were the beef ??? i swear we were eating onions and cheese. she was waiting for us to show out nope baby girl we have class an the tip should prove that for the worst service an food i have ever had. she stereotyped us for sure! my mind got to going but no reaction because that is what a review is for to call your unprofessional attitude an behavior was out of pocket and yet we still tipped you so you couldn’t walk around telling your coworkers “see that’s why i don’t like to wait on those people” nope we have class unlike you an you should find another job i know the circus is hiring clowns an you would fit right in. i’m not done i will spread the word on all social media platforms you will not get away with being a racist as a waitress.. before you say it i was a waitress for 25 years and never ever would i treat anyone like you did us even if they ran me an didn’t tip an complain because trust i have seen it all but never could they ever give me a bad review because i was a great waitress who loved all people.. so yeah stay away from this dump an racism all through there!!! see we go to restaurants all over an there is not a waitress or waiter who doesn’t love our big tips an kind personality. you blocked your blessing today because the tip would have been keep the change dummy!! have a great life an learn how to treat...
Read moreMaybe Covid had an impact? I still think the employees here do a good job. Tonight I ordered through Door Dash. This trash company continues to scam customers throughout America, and yes I am one of them simply because it is simple to place an order and usually get your order. Usually means the food you actually ordered. Now I understand that the DD employees do not tip the restaurant employees and that concerns and upsets me a lot. Sometimes I wonder if the restaurant employees sabotage or purposely short an order just to get back at Door Dash when all that may be happening is screwing the customer. Not saying that is what happened here tonight, but my order from Greene's was short and cold. Smashed inside one bag was everything (suggest 2 bags next time so as not smash the food), but also QC the order so nothing comes up short. When I called and asked the employee at Greene's about who I should contact , the stoic and unapologetic response was "Door Dash". Bust as I thought about it you took the order over your computer as you told me and then you bag and fill it (and then some) but you leave out items that cost money for us, the customer. One of the options was I could come and pick up the missing items (inside I was saying to myself you're kidding me, you have to be?). But, No, she was not. And no apology and then I hung up in disgust at the lack of concern. After all, I wasn't a customer in person. Then, try chatting with Door Dash Help. OMG I after 1 hour and 14 minutes I finally got my money for the missing items and a $5 inconvenience fee. Yep, that's it. Then I had to fight for the administrative fees and tip they charged me. Why should they keep it when I did not receive for what I paid for? In then end it was a an experience beyond hell. I don't blame Door Dash as much as I do Greene's. At least Door Dash worked to fix a problem, if my order had been fulfilled correctly, then I wouldn't have had to go through all of that. One other note and not sure anyone else noticed, but the burgers DO NOT taste as good a they did some years back. I noticed the buns are a little darker and they are horrible tasting. So actually getting my money back for 2 Double Cheeseburgers wasn't a bad deal as the taste is not the same and actually dry, my opinion...
Read morePros: The Legend and by consensus #1 among the Detroit area prefab greaseburger joints. When we were first dating my wife and I went to a Halloween party dressed as Hunter House (me, because I grew up east side) and Greenes (her, she grew up west). We each brought a bag of burgers from our respective grills and did a blind taste test with the guests. Despite HH's being fresher, Greenes got every vote.
There's a reason locals order a stack of Greenes for their weddings, why cousins who come into town won't see their rooms until they're properly smelling like onions and greasy goodness. There's a reason wives around here know not to say "Just feed the kids" to their husbands (see photo for result). There's a reason, back when they were open late, that people would stick around for another drink in hopes of pushing the night into Greene's Time, and why a spouse who did so on Saturday night can get excused if there's a white bag with two dbl cheeseburgers and a sloppy grease stain in the fridge waiting for their significant other on Sunday morning.
I once was there and saw a soldier just returning from a tour in Iraq. He ordered 10 and housed them. This was his promise to himself if he ever made it home. And yeah, that tracks.
