Ordered a burger & fries from GRAND TAVERN FARMINGTON HILLS. From the online menu: THURSDAY GOURMET BURGERS SPECIAL Served with French fries ... Thursday Special Tavern Burger ½ lb Angus beef topped with lettuce, tomato and onion 9.00 Got home, opened container and there was the burger, covered with cheddar as requested, but nothing else. No lettuce. No tomato. No onions as advertised. When the menu description says "topped with lettuce, tomato and onion", that's what you expect, right? Right! Called the restaurant, was transferred to the Manager, Mike. He said he'll have to contact their 3rd party company that handles online ordering. I asked what he would offer for their error.... This is the option he gave: I could come back and he would give me the lettuce, tomato, onion That's it! No refund, not even partial. No complementary dessert, appetizer or other. He said there was nothing he could do. Customer service & satisfaction apparently mean nothing, plus paying full price for something advertised and not received. Mike's response was that there was nothing he could do and that he was very busy. Very busy? This is no way to treat a customer. Period. Their mistake and you pay full price. REMEMBER THIS PLACE ... LET THE BUYER BEWARE!
Owner's response almost a week after the incident states they offered to make me a new burger, which they did not. He said I could come back and they would give me the lettuce, tomato and onion, to which I replied that I wasn't going to make a trip back to the restaurant for that. I'm not destitute, so I'm not looking for a freebie... just wanted to give the business a chance to get it right for the customer. Also, in his response, he made no mention of the advertisement stating what was served on the burger that I did not receive. In any case, I'm done. I decline your offer for a new burger, there are too many other great dining options offering great food, pleasant dining experience and focus on customer service excellence. This place is unfortunately not...
Read moreThe menu features a variety of American-style dishes, including burgers, sandwiches, salads, and entrees. While the food is generally tasty, the quality can be hit or miss at times. Some dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, while others can be a bit lackluster.
The standout menu item at Grand Tavern is their burgers. They offer a variety of creative toppings and flavor combinations, and the burgers are cooked to order and are generally juicy and flavorful. However, some of the other menu items, such as the fish and chips, can be a bit underwhelming.
The service at Grand Tavern is generally friendly and efficient, although it can be a bit slow during peak hours. The servers are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to provide recommendations or answer any questions.
One downside to Grand Tavern is that the noise level can be quite high, particularly during peak hours when the restaurant is crowded. This can make it difficult to hold a conversation or enjoy the meal.
Overall, Grand Tavern is a decent spot for a casual meal, although the quality of the food can be inconsistent. While the burgers are generally good, some of the other menu items may not be worth the price. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars, with the noise level and inconsistent food quality being the...
Read moreNot sure what the hype is for this restaurant? We seen all the cars in the parking lot and decided we would give them a try. This restaurant's food was absolutely terrible.
I ordered the Salmon burger with the house made chips, and a side of their grilled shrimp. The salmon patty had a sour smell and appeared to be undercooked, the house chips were old and stale, and the grilled shrimp was burnt and overly seasoned. I sent ALL of my food back. I then decided to try the Club sandwich. I was actually better than I expected.
My daughter ordered the patty melt. They didn't have the onions to put on the sandwich and didn't mention it until my daughter asked our server about the onions. She was very disappointed as well.
My husband order the Greek salad to which was just a big bowl of lettuce with a few veggies mixed in.
Our waitress offered me a free dessert to compensate me for the less than stellar experience. Unfortunately the manager that was on staff told her she would have to pay for it herself. I felt that was very tacky on behalf of the manager that was on staff Saturday night as well as the owner/s. Apparently the manager and the cooking staff have not been trained properly.
Needless to say, I will never ever go back to...
