I've been going to McDonald's in Unionville Connecticut since the first one was built a half a century ago. Yesterday afternoon I went in, stood at the registers, and nobody came over. So I went to the kiosk to order. When I clicked on fries, only large fries showed. I asked the young man bagging orders if he could explain to me how I could order small fries via the kiosk. He said he would just take my order himself. So that's what I did. So I get my order and there is a large box of fries in there. I go back in to ask to be refunded the difference. Because at this point it was just principle. He goes to the back and returns with the manager. She comes out and grabs the receipt out of my hand and immediately starts yelling at me "YOU ordered through the kiosk! This is what YOU ordered." When I pointed out that she had no idea what she was talking about, she then said "oh, you eat MOST of them and NOW you want your money back? Also not true. I pulled the full box of fries out of the bag to show her. She reached under the plexiglass, grabbed the box of fries out of my hand, and threw them in the trash. They were perfectly good, hot fries. Which I was eating while I was waiting because I was really hungry. I would have eaten THOSE fries. She didn't need throw away perfectly good food. But she did. Then she replaced it with a bag of lukewarm, chewy fries. I'll never set foot in this place again. She has no business managing a store where she has to interact...
Read moreI had a highly frustrating experience at this McDonald's location recently. I placed a curbside order via the app before picking up my daughter. Upon arriving and parking in a curbside spot, the app wouldn’t allow me to input the spot number, leaving me no choice but to go inside, holding my 2-year-old daughter in my arms.
When I approached the counter, the young staff member seemed helpful initially, but the manager who stepped in was incredibly dismissive. She demanded an order number, which the app doesn't provide for curbside orders, and outright refused to assist me further. Her rigid attitude and lack of empathy were unprofessional and unacceptable, especially given the circumstances.
To resolve the issue quickly, I ended up placing a second identical order and paying twice. Later, another staff member found my original order, proving the process failure was on their end. Despite this, no effort was made to refund my duplicate order or even offer an apology.
This store clearly lacks adequate training and customer service skills. If you're relying on curbside pickup or expect basic problem resolution, I’d suggest avoiding this...
Read moreThis McDonald's has consistently disappointed me. As a result I have stopped going to this McDonald's. This is unfortunate as it is a convenient location along my commute to work; however, it is not worth wasting my money for terrible coffee. When you ask for iced coffee they pour hot coffee over ice and you get lukewarm, watered down coffee ( I know for a fact this is not McDonald's protocol for iced coffee as I've had it at many other McDonald's locations). I had this experience once, didn't come back for a while, and then tried it again, but it was the same issue. I then opted for hot coffee which had an unpleasant taste and again seemed watered down. I'm not sure I understand why the protocol varies so wildly here as compared to other McDonald's. The other thing I find unusual is that when I go in early in the morning there is no drive thru and there will be one or two people and the staff operate at a very slow pace sometimes. This is not always the case but it's enough where it gets aggravating because it feels like things should be operating more efficiently for a fast...
