Let me begin by saying I like the idea of this place. Building #1 is a restaurant/brewhouse, building #2 is a pizzaria, building #3 is a very new distillery/speakeasy, and building #4 is a tap/game room. My wish is that everyone would review these four enterprises individually so that the owners could see where they're failing and where they have successes. That being said, I am reviewing the Three Rivers Brewery and Restraunt, building #1.
As many other reviews have stated prior to this one, the owner (John) and managers do NOT care one bit about their customers. They appear to think they have a private club and if you don't suit their mold they certainly won't aim to please their customers. I guess as long as they're making money, who cares, right?
My daughters and I dined there yesterday, May 13, 2017, at about 5:00 for an early dinner. We had steak, burger, and salad ($18-hugely overpriced salad) and it was all pretty good but very pricey. I'm not here to talk prices though; plenty of others have already done so. Our meal was $83 with tip for 3 people. Our service was good, and I really like the atmosphere.
BUT, the piped-in Xfinity music station, some kind of soft-rock, pop drivel, was playing. It took away my dining pleasure. I politely asked the bartender to change the music. He responded "well, lucky for you the song is almost over" and did not change the station. There was only one other patron in the resteraunt so it wasn't like it would upset 100 people to change the station.
I went back to my table and complained to my waitress. She explained that there had been quite a few complaints about the music but the owners wouldn't ever change it. I filled out a customer suggestion card at the table explaining that they should make a better effort to accommodate their guests and walked the card up to the bar (where there were now 5 owners/managers standing there) and handed them the card. They again wouldn't change the station.
I went back to my table and paid my $73 + tip ticket. On the receipt I wrote a note and said that the restaurant should be more accommodating to their guests and that I would not be coming back due to their not caring for their customers. By this time, a man named John who I knew to be one of the owners, was sitting at the bar. I walked over to him and handed him my note then walked back to my table. As I was walking back, he very rudely yelled across the resteraunt "Good bye and don't come back!" I had just stated I wouldn't be - a little redundant,...
Read moreI was excited to try a local brewery while on a road trip with my adult son and 10 year old. We had a great experience at two local breweries in Cortez, so we decided to try 3 rivers. They were out of their own IPA, and the only other happy option, the guest tap hazy. So I tasted the Cali Common and the Mexican Lager. Both were alright, though lacking in mouthfeel and depth of flavor. I went with the Common because it is true to style and thought it would go well with food. My adult son, 26, wanted to order a drink, but the server wouldn't allow his Colorado app I.D., but it wasn't a huge deal. We ordered food, and Kristin, the server, addressed my 10 year old as "Bubba" in a very demeaning way. He placed his order after very politely stating "please don't call me that," and then his order. I was proud of him for standing up for himself. No harm done. The green chili chicken enchilada was tastey with a perfect amount of true chili spice, a good balance of ingredients, and flavor overall. Kristen walked by several times, took a refill drink order at the table next to us and didn't stop when my glass was empty for a refill until over half our food was gone and I'd tried to get her attention. This had happened when we were ready to order food also, so it became a bit annoying. As we were wrapping up dinner, my adult son tried the beer as we are both in the industry and appreciate trying beer on our travels. She saw him tasting it and came over with a rude and disapproving tone saying to him, "dude, I can't have you drinking" to which I responded that he is 26, my son born in 1999 and that he is legal to take a taste of my beer. Especially being his mother, she needed to let it go at that point. Instead, she stood there too long, holding my credit card and the bill, to the point I had to say, "Are you going to run my card?" She then handed back the card with a smack on the table and proceeded to stand at the server stand a table away staring, my younger son noticed and said she was glaring, at us the entire time. Needless to say, we will not be stopping here tomorrow, nor when passing through again. I do not recommend this place for the service. The food wasn't good enough to earn my recommendation. The lack of beer in a popular style was disappointing. The bathrooms were both stinky and dirty as well, which is usually a cause for a star reduction in and of itself at breweries for me. I'd try another place if you want...
Read moreTL:DR Good beer and people--we will continue to go to 3RB and enjoy these two things -1 star for everything coming in styrofoam -1 star for food prices
I'm going to start with the good---We will be coming back to 3RB--The beer is fantastic, the place and location is great, the servers and other customers are outstanding and they have a great patio for Radar to enjoy--these four things alone make this a must visit place everytime we are in Farmington. However, we will go there for beer only---we will not spend our money on their food. Order food at the bar, keep in mind you are ordering for here and that you are at their establishment (eating their food, you bought there, at their bar/restaurant (their, being the people I am paying for it) and it all comes in Styrofoam--Order a cup of soup, comes in a styrofoam container--why not just put it in a cup or a bowl--I know you have a dishwasher, my beer came in a glass. Order a sandwich, it comes in a styrofoam container--I get it, you don't want to spend the time actually washing dishes--but if that's the case why not bring it in a basket, you know those little red plastic things--but styrofoam--really??? On top of everything coming in styrofoam (this has happened multiple times, it's not just a "they thought it was to go" kind of thing, one patty melt--you know how much? -$14.50 for a patty melt---OK I get it, it's got Green Chile on it--it's one of those gucci patty melts, but if you are trying to sell any kind of patty melt for $14.50 you are too pricey for my blood...So long story short, go their--drink good beer--enjoy a good atmosphere and great people---but I'm stopping at Blakes for a Green Chile Cheeseburger on the way next time---less than half the price and...
