Sparrow Wine Bar — Restaurant in Farragut

I met a friend here for happy hour, and this place is absolutely incredible! They offer half-priced glasses of wine between 3 and 6 PM, so we decided to meet at 5. I arrived a bit earlier to browse through the cheese shop connected to the bar—you actually enter the wine bar through the cheese shop, which adds a fun, unique touch.

The space is perfect for a variety of occasions: a girls’ night out, a relaxing solo evening, or even a cozy date night. You can curl up on a couch with a book and a glass of wine, sit at the bar, or gather around a table with friends. I absolutely love the ambiance, with its dimmed lighting and tasteful decor—it feels warm, inviting, and chic.

I’ve visited twice, both times on weekdays, and I had no trouble finding a seat. I’m not sure if it fills up on weekends or if they take reservations, but it’s worth checking if you’re planning to visit during busier times.

The wine selection is fantastic, and I love that you can enjoy a glass of bubbles (like Crémant or Prosecco) at half price during happy hour. On this visit, I tried the baked brie, which was delicious and perfect for sharing with a friend—it was plenty of food for two. We also shared the Featured Board (size large) with a group of four, and it was the ideal appetizer before dinner.

I love the seamless connection to the cheese shop next door. You can grab a glass of wine and sample cheeses, which makes for a perfect combination.

I visited Sparrow with high hopes for a delightful experience, inspired by glowing reviews. However, my excitement quickly waned as our waitress's demeanor soured upon realizing we weren't opting for the full spread. Despite placing an order, we were left waiting indefinitely, ignored and unseen. After nearly an hour of neglect, we decided to leave, only to be waved off dismissively by the same waitress. Such blatant disregard for customers tarnishes the allure of what could have been a charming spot for wine and cheese enthusiasts like myself.

I was looking forward to making this a spot for date nights, Catching up with friends or bringing clients, but unfortunately the service left much to be desired.

Sparrow Wine bar promises to be a popular spot to relax with friends to enjoy wine and cheese. The atmosphere is that of a pleasantly upscale den at your classy aunt's house. There are a variety of seating options from standard tables to a leather couch and velvet chairs. The wine options were limited but mighty, offering a variety of flights and tastes that pair well with the vast array of cheeses on the menu. Our table enjoyed selecting flights paired with charcuterie boards along with some small plates. The staff was knowledgeable and willing to spend time sharing about menu items.
