My friends and I saw that the Fate Village Tavern was finally open. Not realizing it was opening day, we made plans to try it out. After arriving and hearing it literally was their first night open we all said to each other, be prepared for some hiccups and have some grace. Much to our surprise the evening went very well.
Seating was nicely spaced out, 2 pool tables on site that were quickly snatched up with folks playing, and multiple TV's with many different movies and games being played. The atmosphere is very inviting and even with the multiple TV's, they weren't overbearing like some other places can be.
Our server was great and very attentive. She let us know that the food is made from scratch and prepped on-site. We tried multiple appetizers and each had a different meal. The Cajun Fried Pickles were my favorite but we also tried the jalepenos, toasted raviolis, and the mozzarella bites as appatizers. For main dishes we tried all 3 flavors of street tacos, the fish and chips, and the Bleu Cheese Burger with tots. Nothing disappointed! With whispers of live music and a patio in the potential future, I can see this place making an impression and lasting for many years to come.
The one thing I was slightly disappointed in was seeing an upcharge for using my credit card and maybe it was stated somewhere that it was a thing but the whole table missed it if it was.
I 100% recommend Fate Village Tavern to those in the area and anyone...
Read moreI want to be clear that I put two stars for the two staff members who were actually working hard. Jayden and Rob.
I think their biggest issue is the “seat yourself” policy. It’s impossible to seat yourself when all of the tables are dirty. We went ahead and sat down at the least dirty table, but we weren’t greeted by anyone for over 15 minutes. We witnessed three different families leave because nobody ever came to their table. Finally, Rob asked if we’ve been helped and had our server come clean the table and take our drink order. Service was incredibly terrible the entire night. Not just for us but for everyone in the entire restaurant. This was our second time and we were disappointed because Jayden was our previous server and he is excellent and we actually really like the food.
I see the owner giving rude replies to reviews saying that they just opened and are working out kinks. But, it’s more than “kinks” when our server was walking around on facetime, talking with friends for 20 minutes at a time, and not picking up one single dish while Jayden is running around doing everything and Rob (who isn’t even a server?) is taking more orders than the actual servers.
We would love to come back because we like the pizza a lot, but hopefully they are taking the reviews into consideration and train their servers (and maybe hire...
Read moreCame in for a lunch with the family. There was only two tables with people when we got there. Ordered fried pickles as an appetizer which were thinly cut and over fried... It was like eating fried salt. Only had a few and was out of water since it made me so thirsty. Took almost 30 minutes for a refill - which I had to specifically ask her for. Ordered chicken parm sandwich which was very dry. I couldn't eat it. The food quality is the worst in Fate. The service was apathetic, but friendly when attentive... The environment is very dark which is sensible for the theme, but perhaps too dark. Another family asked them to turn lights on and they did. We spent roughly $70 and all we actually ate was some of the awful fried pickles and bread from the chicken parm. Kids got cheese pizza and ate most of it. The pizza sauce was very strange though.
In short, food was below any standard I'd be willing to pay for. The service was below any standard I'm willing to pay for. The environment was fine but certainly could improve.
Hope this is helpful if you're debating on a lunch at this restaurant. Maybe it's better at dinner when a better cook and experienced waiters...
