First time here on recommendation from a friend who lives in Memphis and had been here.
Service: TJ was working the grill and counter during the downtime around 2pm. He was a perfect example of friendly and informative service that sells the products well from fries to shakes and burger. I could see they are grinding up quality steak meat in back and things were fresh.
Quality: Best burger I've had in the state. I may be a new resident but I've been to most of the state's areas in my life and love a good burger. Seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly. Bun was fresh.
Cleanliness: If TJ was less informative I'd have probably dripped this review by a star. There was a little bit of a mess on a few tables and some water on the counter by the drink machine. However had already told me he had worked until past midnight cleaning up a major mess following an accidentally discharged fire suppression system and was already working the grill and the register too so I have to give this a pass since I wasn't needing a table. I'm sure in normal conditions it is adequately staffed to keep the place tidier.
Overall TJ taught me all I should know about the place and I appreciated his attitude given his hard effort and being clearly tired. Excellent employee.

I give honest reviews and when I give a bad review I like to go back and give the business an opportunity to redeem themselves without influence. No gift card, no discount. They have made changes in their service model and it works! The kids working were polite and had a sense of urgency about them. The burgers were amazing!
Sometime Early February: I love CJ's burgers. They are amazing. So why did I give them 2 stars? The wait. We just sat in the drive through line for 30 minutes and the only reason we moved up was because 4 cars in front of us left. The whole time we sat there I tried to order online and that was so frustrating that I was ready to chuck my phone out the window. They have a 3rd party app for online ordering and it took 20 of the 30 minutes to get signed up and then I couldn't find CJs on the app. Take online ordering off your website if you don't really offer it. We left CJs as I started typing this review and have driven across the street to Freddy's, ordered and we are 3rd in line for our food. CJ's, it's Saturday night in a college town. That kind of wait time will put you out of business. We have our Freddy's...
Read moreWhen CJs first moved in, we were interested. Wasn’t another fast food place on Wedington so that was enjoyable. The first dozen visits were nice. The place was still new and there was a focus on quality. Fast forward to my last couple of visits. Prior to the Covid shutdown, my last visit was awful. They lost my online order and I had to wait. I didn’t mind. It happens. I get it. There were only two people working though (was told they were short handed). But the burger was awful and the fries were mush. Then last night. After a few months of void, I tried CJs again. The drive thru was packed and the cooks were cranking out orders. Business was good, I’m sure. But once again, the burger was worse than awful and the fries were inedible. The meat was so dry and overcooked it was like eating cement. And the fries were so greasy, they wouldn’t hold any sauce because it was slide off with the grease. This tells me that they aren’t maintaining their fryer temp and who knows what else. I don’t complain for a refund or any other kind of treatment. It’s a message to the owner. Your quality is gone and that’s what sold me to you in the first place. The kitchen can’t keep up with the volume and the management aren’t watching basic kitchen...
