We've been supporting this establishment for years; never had a serious issue until Sunday. We asked for a specific request; the cashier pinned request on the box but the cook failed to comply. We got home, the chicken was fried very hard which went against our request. Called there and Ronneace, the cashier was very, very nice and understandable; she remembered me. She said to come back tomorrow after 5pm, which is when her shift starts, and they will replace it. Long story short, my husband went and Ronneace said the boss said we have to bring the chicken back for he could believe us. He said we was told this the day of, which was a lie. He did and said everything to NOT rectify the situation. When I called again, Ronneace did confess admitting it was her fault that she didn't tell us to bring it back, but the boss wanted it back for proof. I reached out to him via Messenger and he was cool until I called him a liar. He called me names in his defense, not acknowledging what Ronneace said. He said "it was people like us that gives businesses a bad name". He didn't even say, well I can't replace your 20 wings, but I can give you a 2 piece, a order of fries, or nothing! He recommended nothing except bring it back. Mr Walker is a liar, very unprofessional and do not try to make things right after a bad order and experience! CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE LEAVING. THE WINGS ARE ALWAYS TOO HARD! -Mrs. Marshall THE RESPONSE BELOW IS A LIE! THIS PERSON IS FABRICATING THE ENTIRE ISSUE! WE DON'T WANT ANY FOOD IN RETURN. WE WANT NOTHING FROM THIS PLACE. IT WAS THE PRINCIPALITY FOR ME OF THIS ISSUE. I STILL STAND ON MY REVIEW. SAYING ALL THAT ABOUT MY HUSBAND BEING A BISHOP AND WHAT GOD WILL DO IS DEF TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT OF WHAT I STATED. IF I COULD ATTACH, I WOULD INCLUDE THE CONVO. Yes, he's a Bishop but I did not use the title in that manner. People that know us, knows this is not our character. Walker cannot say the same about his character. HIS RESPONSE BELOW SIGNIFIES THAT. MR.WALKER IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND A LIAR! HE TRIES TO TALK TO CUSTOMERS LIKE HE DOES HIS EMPLOYEES. 🙄 KEEP GOING BECAUSE I GOT TIME.
🌀UPDATE🌀May 3, 2025 We eventually gave Crown another chance; not today, but we started back in 2024. The service is much better. The cook is phenomenal. He's very mannerable and always polite, helpful and nice. To be honest, him and the cashier keeps us coming back...all the way from Harnett County. Even after the old experience, I forgive the owner. I have accepted that sometimes we as a people may never receive the apology we think we deserve. CROWN, keep up the great...
Read moreDid you change your chicken recipe??? I visited this establishment on 4/22/23 and ordered the five wing combo to go. When I got home and opened my box I looked at my food I was very disappointed and unsatisfied with my order. The chicken was dry fried too hard looked dark and lacked seasoning and cooked in old grease on top of that I didn’t even have five whole wings! They threw in about five little pieces of wings to try to make up for what was not there! I called back to complain about my order and the young lady that had taken my order at the counter was very rude telling me the customer nothing was wrong with my order and the manager is the one who fixed it and started to tell me the refund policy and I said ok what are you going to do to fix my order then the manager gets on the phone and I expressed my concerns to her about my order she apologized and asked me to come back and have it remade. I told her that live about 30 minutes away and could come the next day. So I went back today on 4/23/23 and when I walked in the same young lady was there from the day before who never greeted or said hello to me she just turned around and asked the staff in the kitchen to remake the order from the ticket that was given. She was very rude and did not apologize or give good customer service. When I got my food I asked about the drink that came with the combo she tells me that can’t be given because I only had a problem with the food! Excuse me! It’s a freaking combo and I was told I would get the entire meal replaced! The order to today looked better but tasted the same it was fried too hard and lacked seasoning again! I asked the manager this yesterday and she said the recipe was the same but do have new staff in training. Well today was another disappointing experience and I will not be going back especially after how I was treated by the staff! The chicken was nasty the fries were cooked to hard and this has just left a bad taste in my mouth! It seems not only do the staff need training in food preparation but customer service as well! And from what I have read from previous reviews I’m not the only one who feels like the chicken taste different! If you cannot provide quality food and good customer service you need to reduce your prices or maybe should not have reopened this location! I used to tell people how good the food is here that will not be happening again! I will be taking my business elsewhere! This location lacks quality quantity and good customer service!!! Will not be recommending this...
Read moreUpon entry, the restaurant staff, who were actively cleaning the windows, warmly welcomed us. They immediately inquired if it was our first visit and transparently addressed minor discrepancies between the paper menus and the signs, noting that updated versions were forthcoming.
Service was not only attentive but also personalized. Staff made informed recommendations upon request and were clearly vested in our dining experience. They even provided an estimated wait time, as the food is prepared fresh-to-order.
The interior was a pleasant surprise, decidedly more inviting than the exterior would suggest. Cleanliness was notably high, scoring a 9/10 on my scale. The only area falling short was around the beverage station. The seating is thoughtfully arranged, and the uniquely-shaped windows offer a delightful view of Ramsey Street.
In terms of beverages, the lineup consists of standard Pepsi products. One of the drink options was out of order, but the sweet tea received my mother’s Southern seal of approval. The musical ambiance was a tasteful blend of smooth jazz that well-suited the relaxed vibe of the restaurant.
Food is served in to-go boxes, which lends a certain charm to the establishment’s mom-and-pop feel. The fried chicken is commendable for its textural balance—crunchy on the outside and moist within—but could benefit from a bit more seasoning. I’d rate it a 6/10, an impressive score for Fayetteville’s culinary scene. Portion sizes were notably generous, particularly the okra.
The condiment selection was slightly lacking, and the absence of ketchup was a glaring omission considering the menu’s focus on fried items. I also opted to try the Philly cheesesteak. While the sandwich was adequate, it could have used a bit more meat to better align with my taste preferences.
In summary, this establishment offers a blend of quality food, conscientious service, and reasonable pricing, all within a notably clean environment. It’s a venue Fayetteville should both know about and be proud of, albeit with room for some minor...
