OMG!!! We've been in Fayetteville for 3 years and I'm only now learning about this place!!! I LOVE the atmosphere and the 70's music. There are SO MANY dishes I could talk about but I haven't tried then all yet. Lol First... corned beef and cabbage. WHO SERVES THAT ANYMORE!!! Well that's the first thing I'm trying when we go back. Plus roasted Turkey or chicken with dressing. AND IT'S NOT EVEN THANKSGIVING!!! Now let's talk about that 7 layer chocolate cake!! WOOHOO!!! Their breakfast menu looks great too. Gotta get back to try that as well. YUMMY!! 5 stars and 2 thumbs WAY UP!!! UPDATE: 7/7 We've been back with family several times and they all have raved about how good it is. I have to say, when you have a place where you can order an Arnold Palmer you know you've found a keeper. I still have menu items I need to try so you know we'll be back.

I wanted the hamburger steak combo with an omelette but was told I couldn’t order it that way. So I got eh hamburger steak by itself, French toast slices with cinnamon and sugar, a veggie omelette with ham and cheese added, grits, potatoes and biscuit French toast was good, no issues there. The hamburger steak on the other hand was SUUPPEERRR DDDRRRYYY, disgusting no flavor. And I like hamburger steak but this one was made horribly. The omelette was disappointing, whenever I get an omelette all the ingredients are usually wrapped inside the omelette. This was really just and egg folded over and ingredients sautéed and poured on the top. Hardly no cheese or ham. Grits were fine, they weren’t runny or too thick. The potatoes were seasoned good. Biscuit was good too. I will not be trying them again.

I've driven past Rainbow Restaurant so many times and thought I bet it is a nice home-style restaurant. I wasn't disappointed. We were greeted upon entry. There was a short wait, but to be expected on a Sunday afternoon. Once seated, our waitress brought us water and menus to start. The atmosphere felt like a classic diner. It was very comfortable. We didn't have to wait long to be served our food, and it was delicious. Our waitress, Amber, was very friendly, helpful, and patient. Our hostess explained Rainbow is the longest running restaurant in Fayetteville having opened in 1938. I'm looking forward to our next meal there.

Ive visited this restaurant several times and never had any problems until today. The waitress initially came and took our drink orders, came back and asked if we were ready. At that point we weren’t, so we waited at least 15 to 20 minutes in a non busy restaurant for her to come back. In the meantime, the wait staff noticed us waiting and did come to say that she would be with us soon. I ordered the five veggie plate, I opted for the house side salad for one of my vegetables. She told me it’s gonna be a up charge. I didn’t see that indicated on that part of the menu but fine. I’ll pay the up charge. I already knew that there to go plates do not have dividers. They’re just plain open face plates. I don’t like for my food to mix so I asked for one large to go box and two small to go boxes. When she brought the two small I noticed that my salad would not fit. When I told her the salad wouldn’t fit she tried to tell me it would. I asked for the large to go box and that’s when she told me that they would charge me for a to go box as if I’m placing a to go order. I have never heard anything like this ever in my life. After she saw the concern look on my face she told me that she would bring me a box and to hurry up and pack it in the bag. I hope this is not true. I was hesitant to ask for a cup for my drink. The cashier was extremely nice when I asked for the cup and she even refilled it for me. I hope that this restaurant does not charge for to go boxes for a dine in order. I’ve always had a pleasant experience at this restaurant, but today was...

I'm only giving a one star because I have to at least give a star. The owner was rude, loud, embarrassing and had an attitude and came off as racist as I was trying to tell him the food didnt taste right and was displeasing. The salmon I order tasted old and my coke tasted like cough syrup. My aunt rib eye also looked old and tasted like water. My 12 year old son loves pancakes and bacon but hardly finished one pancake and half of his bacon because he said the pancakes were nasty and the bacon smelled like dog. I tasted a peice of his pancake and immediately through it up in a napkin. The waitress herself asked how the food was and I told her it was nasty that we would not be coming back despite she was a great waitress. She asked if we wanted to take our food to go and we said no and she said we should talk to the owners wife who was at the register. From the time of walking in we were stared at until we left. I didnt want a discount or anything taken off the bill I was willing to pay. I just wanted to let the owner know something was right about the food especially since seeing that they had no power for two days, that the owner would want to know his meats may be bad and customers could get sick. BUT no he acted like I was some poor black trash that couldnt pay my bill reguardless that I could afford the bill. Outside of the restaurant smelled like mildew and I wouldnt recommended a starving animal to go eat there...
