I give 1/2 star!!! I graduated from Miller Motte in 2012. I was super excited when I started because the school was new to Fayetteville. It was a little bumpy in the beginning, because they had not ironed out all the kinks. Well it didn't take long for everything to go downhill from there. When the people say all they care about is money, BELIEVE IT!!! I was in the cosmetology program and my student loans are over 28,000 dollars. When I started, there was a degree program offered for the program. I had to take all of my core classes over because what I received from FTCC apparently, they were too old to be used, that was like 5 classes=MONEY. They charged for everything, even when you didn't want certain things. They made me get a flash drive which was like $10. They said it was included and it would be charged anyway. The same went for a portfolio that was $20, if not more, that I never used. I still have it, and I still don't use it. I did not want to participate in graduation services, nor did I want that business suit that they gave us, (Not sure if they still have those) but I was told that I would still be charged for each thing whether I wanted it or not. In COS, you have to have a certain amount of hours at the end of your program. My last class before graduation, I was short 4 hours. Instead of them allowing me to make them up, they gave me an "F" for the class and charged me for a WHOLE other semester, just to take 4 hours= MONEY. I was still charged for an Associate's Degree, even though I switched over to the certificate program. I had awesome instructors, so I have no complaints about that. Teaching styles varied, but that's a given. Some of the administrative staff was okay. It seemed as though all of the ones that were passionate about helping the students somehow mysteriously were fired. MILLER-MOTTE DOES NOT GIVE REFUNDS...THAT MONEY IS NOT A REFUND CHECK!!!!! I CAN NOT stress that enough. DO NOT be fooled. That is a part of your loan. YOU MUST PAY THAT BACK!!!! You get loan money AND you get pell money. Your pell is used OFF TOP THEN they use your loan money!!! Luckily, when I started, there was a GREAT woman in the financial aid office that really cared about the students and she let us know what was going on, needless to say, she was one of the ones that got fired! Anyway, after each semester, I never signed for the release of funds. I wanted to keep my loans as low as possible. Unfortunately, because hours in COS fluctuated every semester, I had to take time off from my job, so I had to start receiving the stipend. Five years later, I still have not gone into my field of study because while my instructors were awesome, I don't feel like we were given the training we needed. We were not exposed to a lot of things. I don't feel comfortable doing some things on people. If I had to choose to work in the field or take the course all over, I would take the course over...AT ANOTHER SCHOOL. I've been working in the bookstore at FTCC and looking at what the COS students get in their kits there and when I tell you they have E-VER-Y-THIIIIING, in their kits...from hair swatches for coloring on down to choosing left- or right-handed shears, they have everything. Oh yeah, did I forget to tell you that most of the instructors that taught me, including the director of my program, who was also fired, now teach at FTCC and some of the students that didn't finish the program are now attending FTCC??? What does that tell you? They periodically come on to this post in response to some of the reviews, but they aren't saying anything. That's their job to monitor reviews, so they can discredit the reviewers views. I'm not telling you all one way or the other. I just wanted to share my experiences with you because they sold me on a dream and if I can help you to go in with your EYES WIDE OPEN, then that's what I'm going to do. If you choose to go to Miller Motte after reading these reviews, that's fine because you have to make your own choices, but just know... EVERYONE CAN'T BE TELLING THE SAME...

Cons; WORST comunication and professionalism I have EVER come across!!!
I attended the Miller-Motte CDL program in Fayetteville, Nc. July 5th 2016 threw July 28th 2016. Here are some MAJOR issues and concerns I dealt with; It started with my first phone call to the 800 number. The girl I spoke with could not tell me any info on the CDL program but my main concern at that time was if they except the G.I. Bill or not. She could not tell me. She physically wanted me to drive to the campus to meet with the CDL adviser Fred Widner to find out if they even except the G.I. Bill. Hopefully this saves you a trip... They DO except it.
Next; DO NOT PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE D.O.T. PHYSICAL!!! When you meet with Fred Widner he will pump you full of info but will most likely forget to tell you not to pay for your physical like he did for me and many other students. A week before I started school I called and emailed Fred Widner to try to find out what I needed to do for my DOT physical. I reseved no response from him or anyone at the main campus. So after serval failed contact attemps I again had to physically go to the campus where I thought I could receive the correct information from Fred. When I arrived at the MMC capus Fred was not there. I then explained the situation to the lady who helps with enrollment and she told me that if I paid for the DOT physical I would get reimbursed. THIS WAS NOT THE CORRECTED INFORMATION! A week into the program I found out I was NOT supposed to pay for the physical and i was supposed to wait for an email with billing information that you would give to the medical examiner's office to bill the school. I end up reseving this email a week and 3 days after I had already started class witch is obviously to late.
Fred Widner said he would help me get my refund back but when ever I checked on the status of my refund I could not get in contact with Fred via several emails, phone calls and voice mails. Its as if he was avoiding me. Fred's lack of comunication and professionalism is what put me and many other students into this situation in the first place. He could not take 2 minutes out of his day to email or call me back to let me know the status of my situation. When i brought it to his attention threw an email this is what Fred Widner replied;
"Dominic I was out of the net for a few days and working on Ft. Bragg as well as conducting my daily interviews in and out of the office.
There are no communications issues on this side as I let you know that once I found out what the delay was I would contact you."
If Fred was out of the office for a few days then a courtesy automated email should have been established along with a courtesy automated voicemail informing students of his absence. As long as Fred thinks "There are no communications issues on this side" This problem will never get resolved.
Fred Widner is really giving the Miller-Motte CDL program a bad reputation.
PROs; The two BEST driving instructors Arture Flores and Michael McDougall (aka. Mac.) These two instructors are outstanding, professional and respectful. They really care about there students, trucks and fellow instructors. they get a 5 star rating
I hope this helped future CDL...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBoy do I have a lot to say. My husband was stationed here not very long ago and I was excited to further my education and passionate about esthetics. This school 100000000% is a waste of your time. Their seriously needs to be something done about it and Iāve tried talking to my instructors about it and have been nothing but disrespected. The students and instructors are racist and play favoritism more than anything. Iām a great student, work very hard and I show that with my grades. The people that hardly ever come to class and do no work somehow get rewarded and are passing. The instructors that teach he esthetics program are actually cosmetologists and granted cosmetologist do go over skin care they do not go into the extent estheticians do. So Iām being taught esthetics by cosmetologists. Not only are my instructors not really qualified they pick fights with the Caucasian students constantly. When I said the school is racist towards white people thatās a understatement...
Most of the students here are only going to receive a VA check and for their ārefundā. This one specific instructor Iāve witnessed hit on the student and is extremely unprofessional. And Iāve told someone about it and nothing has been done about it. Iāve told the instructor before that Iāve gotten bullied or about my weak education Iām getting and nothing changes. The skin care treatments you learn one time and then are expected to know it!!!!! So good luck finding a job afterwards cause you wonāt know anything. The school is gross, and doesnāt get cleaned properly. Iāve never even seen a custodian. Iāve heard multiple times that something is wrong with the schools accreditation. Iām terrified Iām going to graduate and not being able to go anywhere with my license. I hope students that are actually wanting a education read this and I hope itās reframes you from coming here. Iām sincerely devastated in my decision in coming here. Military wives that want a education I would suggest driving a hour away versus here. I will be taking my way up the chain to notify the owner on how bad it is here. Iām almost done here and Iām changing schools because itās just that bad. I hope the owner sees this and something finally gets done about...
