5/7/14 Check # 1498 I went out to Sandpiper Seafood Restaurant in Fayetteville 411 N Eastern Blvd. Fayetteville, NC, and was provided very poor customer service by their male manager. According to my receipt of purchase, I arrived at the restaurant at approximately 6:02 pm. It was me, my babysitter, and my 9 year old daughter. We secured a table, and then proceeded to get food from the buffet. I fixed myself a spoon full of turnip greens, broccoli, and rice and gravy. When I went to get a piece of fried chicken to complete my meal, there was only chicken breast and thighs on the serving table (parts of the chicken that I do not care to eat & and that appeared very dry). Therefore, I proceeded to my seat. I signaled for the waitress who was very nice, and asked her if she could ask the cooks to put out some chicken legs, because they had nothing but chicken breaths and thighs out on the serving table. The waitress then informed the cooks that I wanted some chicken legs. When she returned, she said that there would be a 15 minute wait. I said to her that would be fine. 15 minutes passed, soon 25 minutes past, so I asked the waitress again about the chicken legs noting that they have yet to bring out fresh chicken. The chicken breast and thighs looked very dry. She again followed up on my request. She returned stating that the manager stated, “No more chicken would be put out until the chicken that was on the serving table was eaten.” I asked her to have the manager come out to speak with me. The manager came out, and stated that, “he would put more chicken out once the chicken on the table is eaten.” I explained to him that the delay with the chicken interfered with my meal, as I couldn’t eat my rice without my chicken.” He stated that they don’t just cook chicken legs at the request of customers, and that I would have to wait until the chicken that was on the serving table was eaten” I asked him how long will I have to wait, he replied he don’t know, it’s when the chicken on the table is eaten, citing that chicken is not a special order your favorite part.” At this point, I had lost my appetite. I asked if I could get a refund, he stated that I could not, I then asked for a carry out, he declined to give me a carry out; finally after about almost 40 minutes of waiting, and the chicken legs were placed on the table. I went up to the table and placed three chicken legs in a napkin, then walked out the restaurant. The manager followed citing that what you are doing is considered theft. I told him to call the cops, and I will wait there until they arrive. I noted what a poor excuse of a manager he was, and exchanged some negative words with him. I was never treated so rude, and I frequent local buffet restaurants quite often with my colleagues, and/ or family. I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone. Read moreI'll give sandpiper a good rating this time I think they got it right this time Customer service is good they were very understanding and helpful when we took our food back because they had given me the wrong plate and were helpful when I had to ask for a suggestion on what kind of chicken to get for the plate I ordered they suggested baked chicken so I ordered that with yams and fried okra all of wich turned out great I dont eat fried chicken often and cant really enjoy it because of the crease but I like the baked chicken I've not mentioned the lots of crease because it's an issue at sandpiper I've never had there's the crease problem is with other restaurants but I stay away from fried chicken because of that experience...food and service were good Decent prices to and its plenty of food for one plate I ordered 2 plates when I was there one for me and one for my mom I think I paid around 14.00 bucks ..I say that's a good price because I compared that to when I had gone to wendy's the night before and they wanted 15 bucks for 2 burgers and 2 frosty that's insane Anyway on top of good food they have some good tea as well didn't even ask for it it comes with the plate I think the only plates the tea doesn't come with are fish plates although I'd ask when I ordered to be on the safe side ...long waits on Friday dinner rush though so call ahead I went thru drive thru normally and it was fine but then again caution is important. If you want your food fast call if you dont mind a five minute wait depending on the line then go as normal...
Read moreThe food was really good. Tasted like I was eating in my grandma's kitchen. However, they could benefit more if they were to expand or open another location. The lines be wrapped outside. Alot of people get back into their cars and go somewhere else! UPDATED on 6/20/16 After taking my husband here for Father's Day on yesterday I still enjoyed the food but management needs to be replaced!! I requested the ceiling fan over my table to be turned off or down b/c it was really cold and making my food get cold before I could eat it. Not to mention my children were cold and complaining about the cold air from the fan directly over our table. After looking around I observed fans that had been turned off and some that had been turned down rotating on low. So I asked the hostess if someone could possibly turn ours down or off. She was very pleasant in contacting the manager for me only to be told by the manager that she can't turn the fan off. The manager did absolutely nothing within her means to try to please us the paying customer. I really don't know how this place is still operating with such management. The owners need to replace the management team and look in search for more people oriented management. Don't they know without the customers they won't have a job! I had previously given them 5 stars but management costed them...
