Food Lion — Local services in Fayetteville

I haven't been to a Food Lion in ages, and I pass the one at Ireland and Raeford, on my way to Harris Teeter to buy specific weekly VIC items or go to the commissary on Fort Bragg. My Food Lion has deteriorated as far as its appearance and the staff is no longer recognizable. Nothing saves me more $$ than comparison shopping and "Buy two, get three free." So, when I stopped at the HWY 301/24 Food Lion on Gillespie Street to get some lunch, I was surprised because I was warmly greeted by a female employee in the frozen food section and she engaged in some casual small talk. I was used to being ignored at my Food Lion. I bought something from the Deli and fresh fruit from the produce department and noticed that the store was not grungy, and was neat and clean. I was downtown for an appointment and would return to the Gillespie Street Food Lion again if I had business near by. I wouldn't do my big shopping, as my children used to call it, but I would go to buy a nutritious substitute...

Food Lion is a marvelous supermarket because the manager has his workers trained to meet the people . They are courteous and is willing to go the extra mile to please the community of Fayetteville,NC. They are also following the NC governor's by making sure that everyone is wearing a mask when they enter the store. They are also keeping the grocery cart handles wiped down. If you cannot find something on the shel ves , the employees will show you where the item is located in the store. The environment in the store is always clean. The manager of the store is an individual who love the people of this community . So make sure that you come to Food Lion and see for yourself. Food Lion is an excellent supermarket to buy all your grocery needs , toiletries, and miscellaneous...

The older lady who checked me out was not very friendly or polite. I had an issue with my alternate id (phone #) attached to my rewards card & she was less than knowledgeable o and a little rude about the situation. I entered my phone # and it wasn't accepted the first couple of times, the cashier told me I was entering the wrong info. I pulled my account up on my phone, showed her the phone # I was entering and she shrugged her shoulders then finally entered it herself and it went thru. I like the sales and rewards I earn at food Lion and every other staff member I've dealt with have been friendly, helpful, knowledgeable or asked another employee for assistance in order to help me, so I won't let this one time discourage me from shopping here. I will continue to "kill" her...
