I don't think I could recommend this Mi Casita. My wife and I figured that we would use Cinco De Mayo as an excuse to break quarantine and support a local business. Big mistake. We ordered our food online at 6:18 for pickup at 7:00. Lo and behold it would appear as if quite a few people were thinking the same thing because there was a line around the building of people waiting. I figured that since I ordered and paid online that all that I would have to do is pick my food up. I was incorrect. That long line of people were all online orders waiting for pickup. At around 7:30 we hear rumblings that some orders are canceled and some orders haven't even been started unless you approached the counter. Also around this time it's beginning to rain and lightening was coming. I walk inside to address the cashier to find out what is happening and I find a lot of irrate customers trying to do the same thing as me. I ask the cashier to speak a manager and she responded to me with a look of astonishment and asked me why did I need to see the manager. I, along with about 20 other people were probably thinking why wouldn't we want to speak to a manager. I walked back outside in hopes that maybe my food was being prepared and again asked for the manager to come speak to us. Not to long after that I got an email that cancelled my order. This was around 8:00. Shortly after that a large number of people received a canceled order email. Talk about a lot of angry, wet people.
I understand that in these times, service maybe slow and unpredictable. I have patience and expect such things to happen. What I have issues with is the lack of communication by the staff and the management. I'm certain that most of the people standing out there were understanding to a point, but to leave us out there in the thunder and rain with no idea of if or when we would get our food is not good business. This was the first and last time that I will be going to...
Read moreI've worked in the restaurant business for 27 years, and I'm pretty sympathetic to an order mistake, or a bad night for the crew. But this was the first time in my life that I didn't leave a tip - and it killed me worse than the waitress. First, it started with the waitress. In my day, we would fight over a party of 7. This waitress looked like she was absolutely dreading it from the beginning. Not one smile, no engagement or eye contact, and not even an apology for screwing up an order. Then came the food. I ordered a Nacho Plate with chicken - I got 10 soggy nacho chips laying in a puddle of runny white cheese with a pile of lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream & chicken on top (1st pic) - a soppy mess I could eat only with a fork. My daughter ordered #7, the chili relleno plate & asked if it was a whole pepper stuffed, breaded, & fried, or was it more like a dip. She said it was a pepper stuffed with cheese, breaded & fried. Not only did the waitress bring the wrong order, when she went back for a relleno, it came as a dip. Just then, we heard the couple behind us call her over for bringing them the wrong order also. Again, no apology - just a stone-faced, "Okay"....
Read moreDriving to Myrtle Beach, we pulled off to grab some lunch. We were originally going to the bbq place next door, but saw it was drive thru only, but we wanted to sit down. Right next door was Mi Casita. I dug the in and out doors when we enter, never have seen in/out kitchen doors used like that before. I also liked that they offered us hot or normal salsa with our chips, which we got both. Pretty tasty home made salsa. They had a listing in there menu of their famous burritos. I asked which one she recommended and got it. Service was very good and quick. I asked for steak instead of chicken. Unfortunately I really didn't care for it. I don't care for the cheese sauce all over my burrito, but thats my fault since I didn't really read what she recommended and didn't ask not to have it. The meat though, tasted like it was a hamburger that they chopped up. It definitely wasn't steak. My buds got a chicken and steak Taco salad that they both seemed to like. There's lots of seating and I liked the decor. I'd stop here again if I was hungry and give...
