I found the Corner Bar & Grill searching for a good place to have brunch at. Let me tell you...This place popped up and I checked the menu and WOW! Talk about innovative and creative menu items. This place isn't catering to the trendy crowds. They are creating straight up good food, good flavor profiles and have a complimenting atmosphere.
This is a pretty small place and can get crowded but the tables are spaced to a point where you are not sitting on top of other patrons. The wait staff are very friendly and responsive and the establishment was clean. They have a blown up portrait of Easy-E on the wall too (Not that many people remember him nowadays but it was a good throw back).
The service and cleanliness were A+ but the food, the food was just as expected based off an initial look at their menu. AMAZING! We had the Loaded Omelette, the Banana Bread Pancakes and the House Old Fashion Pancakes (I'll be trying the Chicken and Waffles next for sure!). The food was super tasty and fresh. A lot of thought went into these recipes. The ingredients compliment each other to make totally original dishes that are fully satisfying! I was not a huge fan of the chocolate chips in the banana bread pancakes (I just thought it was not needed at all. You didn't even need syrup for those.) but it was a great experience nonetheless.
We drove 35 miles to visit them and we will definitely be back to check out what else they offer aside from the weekend Brunch menu. With all this being said, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for highly creative dishes that pack the flavor and design elements of any Michelin Star establishment! Kudos to the Owner, Chef and staff here! Job well done,...
Read moreServer said I can order food with my drink "if I hurry." I got cold coffee, that I'm pretty sure she took back and microwaved for several minutes because it came back so hot I couldn't drink it before leaving and there was no real sugar (only substitute), no unflavored creamer and no spoon or stirrer. I ordered 3 eggs over medium; one was a raw white, one had a fully cooked yolk, and the other was mostly cooked yolk AND runny white.... all 3 eggs together, all 3 cooked different but not one correct. As a general review of the dish, the Texas toast was good and bacon was cooked pretty well, a bit greasy and tough which I find common when it's understandably partially pre-cooked. The potatoes were plane, bland, NO seasoning, boiled, NO sear or color and were barely warm, they tasted like tap water. Oddly enough the ketchup was disgusting, it came in a dish so idk what kind it was, but it was so bad. Chicken and waffles were ordered "not spicy" but spicy (kyan or hot sauced) chicken was brought and the waffles were burnt on the bottom. I liked the chicken, just not the person who ordered it, not spicy. The server never checked on us, I had to get her and ask for the check. She did then offer to get something else but we were just ready to go because of the food, service and loud group next to us. Server did take eggs off bill. Very expensive &...
Read moreI don't even know where to start. You'll never have better coffee in some diner. They actually make it a point here to stock very good coffee served in a leather-wrapped mason jar. Maybe I'm easily impressed, but I dig that even the simplest thing was taken seriously. Then the menu comes. They've got this menu made just for brunch hours. It's a short and very well-curated menu, and everything on it looks fantastic. We ordered the hash and chicken and waffles. It was easily the most elevated "bar food" I've ever had. Best chicken and waffles I've ever had, served with a semisweet creme anglaise. Tried one bite with syrup and decided it wasn't needed. With the sauce and the perfectly breaded, tender, juicy chicken, it was sweet but not sickly sweet. Honestly the best possible flavor profile for chicken and waffles. And the hash was outstanding. Three eggs over-easy served atop a bed of potatoes with chorizo and bacon and cheddar cheese and all kinds of goodness. A jalapeño hollandaise and green onion crowned the entire affair. "Wow," is all I can say. I know this is a long-winded review, but they've earned it. Between service and the quality of the food, this is by and away my new favorite brunch/breakfast place. I will be back, hopefully to also enjoy their lunch and...
