One Eleven is a new small plate restaurant in downtown Fenton (where Xolo used to be). The restaurant has been remodeled to remove the Mexican vibe of Xolo's and now has many more tables. The patio tables are very nice although we had to move inside on account of rain. We ordered 3 plates which were Grilled Bread, Sundried Tomatoes and Hummus, and a grilled potato dish, all of which were unique, well prepared and flavorful. For dessert we ordered Citrus Olive Oil Cake (my partner really liked) and Bread Pudding Bites (I really liked). Both desserts were again unique, well prepared and flavorful. As for service, the ratio of waiters to patrons was very high meaning our waiter was not overloaded and therefore spent the time to make our visit feel special. Overall One Eleven was a great experience and we look forward to another unique, well prepared dinner where all of the details...
Read moreWe were just excited to try a new restaurant in the area. To start, they only had 2 red wines as they were out of the others. My Negroni was pretty good, but then the food came…duck breast seemed sous vide, un-rendered, tough, and no flavor. The grilled bread service was decent, but for the price and a table of 4 seemed like we could have had 4 pieces of bread instead of 3 pieces. I have to agree with the other reviewer where our chicken sliders tasted like fish. Maybe the oil is shared, but the chicken tasted like fish. Is no one tasting the food before it goes out?!?!? Probably will not drive 30min to try this place again as there are better restaurants in the area. It is extremely loud in the restaurant.
Update: After the restaurant replied to my review in a way I thought was professional I immediately sent an email. I still to date have not received a...
Read moreFirst things first. The food was outstanding! There were five of us. We had several different plates that we shared between us. Including the whole fish and the ribs. Excellent! The drinks were good enough. Service was excellent! However… The vibe was garbage. The first thing we noticed was fake plants on the patio. The whole town has real plants everywhere and it gives a cheap vibe. The next was the lighting, 100w led bulbs everywhere made feel like a hospital lunchroom. There was no music, just a cacophony of people talking and plates being shuffled around. Next thing was the plates themselves. For a place that intends for the food to be shared, the plating makes it difficult to. Plates are too big, they take up too much room on the table to use the small plates they provide to share. Overall, I would go back for the food, but if the vibe was better, I’d go...
