When LaMarsa first came to town a couple of years ago maybe, we were so excited. To have good middle eastern cuisine right here in Fenton couldnāt have made us any happier. And it was love at first taste. And while the food is still delicious, the servings have gotten much smaller. I would rather a place raise their prices ( although I feel they have risen their prices as well) then try and make up for profit loss with much smaller portions. I like to know that I am ordering enough and with this inconsistency, it is just not possible. I also am more often than not shorted in items. In the managers defense every time I call he offers to make it right but these errors should be the exception, not the rule. By the time we decide to try it again all has been forgotten and I canāt quite remember what he was going to do to compensated for short change in product. I suppose I could drive right up but I often donāt really feel like heading back up (a 15 min drive) to correct the problem. If I could give stars for flavor and quality it would merit a five star for sure. But value and consistency earn a one star, thus my three star rating will stand. We plan to take a break from our beloved La Marsha. I will update and adjust the rating if it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas harassed by a homophobic host here today and will never come back. First he called me sir. Then laughed loudly and called me mam. Then doubled over laughing and made a display of me to nearby customers. Then he added, "or whatever you are"... and laughed some more (like a maniac and thinking he is the funniest man on earth, apparently). I won't support a restaurant where employees freely harass queers and women. Manager apologized but then went on to minimize his behavior and said the 'sun was in his eyes; and 'if I knew his personality.' There was no sun. What his personality conveyed is that he is rude, sexist and homophobic. There is no way to frame this except for the homophobic harassment it was. Queers looking for food in Fenton might try the Laundry or the Latin food place, as queers are welcome there. I was a good patron and sent la Marsa business. No more. Fenton has enough redneck businesses and I regret setting foot in this one. I hope the manager rethinks his opinion of this employee's behavior because I am certain that if this is tolerated (and it is), it will hurt his business. Gay money is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery, very disappointed with our take-out order this past Monday. The food tasted fine; what there was of it, that is! We ordered a large Fattoush Salad ($9.29) and added a lamb skewer ($6.99) The salad was incredibly sparse: we had to search for tomatoes and cucumbers. If there were tomatoes, they looked like tiny chopped pieces of red bell pepper. If there were five slices of cucumber, I might be exaggerating. The lettuce barely filled the bottom of the container. The dressing was wonderful, but there wasnāt much of a salad to put it on. We paid $6.95 for a lamb āskewerā that had 3 small pieces of lamb. Again, it was very flavorful, but three pieces?? We ordered a large Hommous with Chicken Shawarma ($12.99); again, very little chicken. We paid a lot for a very substandard meal, and not because of the taste of the food. I donāt imagine this meal would have been served to us in the restaurant had we been there; sparse and, therefore, not what we paid for. I believe this establishment took advantage of the fact that we werenāt there to...
