I’ve been consuming food ever since I was a little boy… and never in my 46 years have I ever had my mind blown away and my stomach pleased nearly as much as after I consumed my meal at campus pollyeyes in Findlay tonight. I’ve heard my friends talk about it before but I’ve never been into the store to try it. I’m also quite the pizza buff, I’ve had some of the top pizza locations in the country, from authentic New York style pizza from pizza shops in the big Apple, to some of the greasiest deep dish places in the windy city(Chicago). But after tonight I’ve decided I may never grace another pizza restaurant in my life. What do I recommend? Well for starters, the stuffed breadsticks are divine. The portion sizes make it well worth your money first off, and the taste is unmatched, as they give you mouthful after mouthful of savory mozzarella cheese along with your choice of topping, basted in their delicious buttery garlic sauce. And don’t even get me started on their ranch… let’s just say I ordered myself multiple quarts to take home for myself… then, they brought out the pizza. And oh goodness. I decided to be simplistic, going with just pepperoni and extra cheese, for my first time. But simplistic wouldn’t even be in the first thousand words I’d use to describe this delicacy. My taste buds felt as if they had died and ascended into heaven. My eyes filled with tears as I experienced a joy I hadn’t experienced since I was a wee lad. Safe to say I’m thoroughly looking forward to eating my leftovers tomorrow and the following day. As well as phenomenal food… the staff was amazing too. All I interacted with were kind, helpful, and personable. I couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience, and I feel lucky to have been introduced into...
Read moreI was told this was a great place to get some bread sticks. I was thinking to myself what is the big deal with bread sticks but let me tell you they are more than just your average bosco stick. I got to the counter to make a take-out order and the staff was very friendly and helped me with any question that I had about the menu. I figured I would be able to eat a whole order of bread sticks but I am glad that I only got the half order. It comes with 3 sticks that I chose to be stuffed with chicken and cheese. When I got to eating them I found out that these were very filling but they were also very good. There was a customer that came in that seemed to be upset about something before she came in the store and was giving the employee a hard time about pricing and she just left the restaurant and left behind her order in the store. The clerk looked over at us getting ready to leave with our order and offered us their order free of charge. So we left there with 3 orders of bread sticks. The inside of the dining room has tables with 2 chairs as well as tables with 4 chairs and booth seating along the walls. There are 2 TV's in there showing sports and the 2nd half of the dining room had nice skylights in it for a little more relaxed dining.I would recommend this place and I will be back next time I am in the...
Read morePizza and service were great. I highly recommend! History lesson:
I grew up in Charleston, IL with Pagliai’s Pizza. It is a VERY popular local pizza place. Imagine my surprise when I pass through Findlay, OH and Google a pizza place. Campus Pollyeyes came up and I couldn’t resist. Miss Scarlett was my server and just happens to be the owners daughter. I made my order and started asking Scarlett questions about the possibility of a connection between the Findlay and Charleston locations. She knew some of the Findlay origin (two brothers started the pizza place) but that was about it. While eating, I started researching. Pagliai’s in Findlay changed the name to Pollyeyes as a more phonetic way to pronounce the name. It turns out my suspicions were correct. There was a third brother who went to Illinois and started up the one in Charleston. The pizza tastes similar, but not exact to what I grew up with. Really took me down memory lane. The Pagliai family still owns the pizza place in Charleston, but is not the case in Ohio. I am super proud to say that Scarlett and her family are doing a great job carrying on the Pagliai tradition of great pizza. Guess what… I’m coming back through Findlay tomorrow evening. Guess where...
