I can’t begin to say enough good things about Mancys at the Hancock hotel. The food is absolutely fantastic and so is the staff. We went to Mancys for our dinner on NYE. We went all out for this meal for our family of four.
Appetizers: Crab Stuffed Mushrooms | so good Jumbo shrimp cocktail | Our least favorite dish of the meal. I’m beginning to think that I’m just not a huge fan of Jumbo shrimp in general though. Scallop with garlic grits | These garlic grits were sooooo good! There was only one scallop that came with this appetizer but it was delicious.
Soup: French Onion Soup | my husband says this is one of his favorite French onion soups out of all restaurants Soup of the day (3) | this was a bean soup. My stepsons both devoured theirs. It was pretty spice forward in my opinion. (I believe it was something like nutmeg)
Drinks: They brought my husband and I out a complementary small glass of champagne since it was New Year’s Eve I had two old fashioned drinks with rabbit hole bourbon My husband and stepsons all had pop. Our waitress was so attentive and made sure to refill often My husband had a coffee with dessert
Entrees: My husband had the 10oz Barrel cut filet with bearnaise sauce My stepson had the 10oz barrel cut filet with rice pilaf I had the 10oz barrel cut filet with the mushroom and bordelaise sauce and mashed potatoes with gravy My other stepson had the 12oz NY Strip Steak with a bone marrow crust and homemade steak sauce with mashed potatoes
All of the steaks were cooked perfectly and were so good! So good that almost forgot to get a photo!
Desserts: Pecan Ice Cream Pie with chocolate and caramel drizzle cheesecake with a raspberry drizzle (I could bath in that drizzle! Lol) Chocolate cake with raspberry drizzle with “you are an inspiration” written in chocolate on the plate
My youngest stepson has a very long road ahead in 2022 with several serious medical conditions that he has going on. We wanted to make sure that NYE was special for him as his life and our lives are about to change a lot in 2022. We chose Mancys because my husband and I got married at the Hancock hotel and had our reception dinner there. We made the right choice. The staff was so pleasant from start to finish and went out of their way to make the boys feel special.
Thank you, Mancys! ❤️
We may not have the opportunity to get back to Findlay anytime soon, but we will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place to anyone for a fantastic,...
Read moreService: Let me start off by saying out waitress was great and super friendly. She was the absolute best. Atmosphere: The seating in the restaurant was somewhat clustered and crowded feeling for my taste. The tables for 2 are barely big enough to hold the bread and the drinks so if you order appetizers or extra sides like we did, it's a very uncomfortably cramped feeling! The lights were very low so it was difficult to see if my steak was done the way I liked it but it tasted fine. FOOD: (If you are still reading this, this is the most important part of the review in my opinion.)* It was alright* I say that with disappointment in my thoughts. For a $380 bill I was expecting to be wowed or atleast feel like it was an experience I would return for but it was more of a cross between Texas roadhouse steak and J-Alexanders which are fine places but that's it. JUST FINE. (Meaning not very good). I was NOT impressed with the meal at all. The original Mancys on Phillips Ave in Toledo Ohio is well worth the drive and im always leaving there feeling like it was a great meal! This imposter Mancys was a pathetic excuse for a mancys. Their prices are higher and quality is poorest. The wagu steak had gristle fat on it and it didn't melt in your mouth like the real mancys steaks. The lobster tail was good and sweet and that is probably the only thing I would say was worth anything! This place isn't even owned by Gus and it's franchise quality. It was alright though but I expect high temp seared steaks and age dried and the flavor to be spot on when I'm paying that k8nd of money for a meal for 2. My advice: Spend the extra gas money and go to the real deal Mancys Steakhouse in Toledo, OH, prices are lower anyways. I'm actually disappointed that the owners of the toledo one would let this place...
Read moreWe arrived 7 minutes early to our reservation time. The front of house simply said, come back closer to 7:30. We arrived back at 7:30 after sitting in the gorgeous Hancock Hotel Lobby. The front of house took us to our table which was a small table at the end of a large booth seat. The table was too long so I felt far away from my wife. The table was also very close to the one next to us. I felt closer to the table next to us than to my wife across from me. We ordered the bacon appetizer. It was thick cut pork belly style with a nice smoke, but not much else going on - C at most. We were brought bread and butter. The bread was extremely chewy and hard to eat. C-. We ordered Caesar salads with our steaks. The Caesars were not cold and the dressing tasted really odd. Each salad had 3 croutons. C-. I ordered a delmonico ribeye medium rare with a loaded baked potato and the wife a 10 oz filet medium rare with a loaded baked potato. My steak arrived very medium to medium well. They took the steak back and brought me back my baked potato so I had something to eat. My wife's filet was cooked beautifully and was buttery soft. She ordered the garlic crust but it was a garlic mush on top of her steak. She scraped it off and ate the filet. Baked potatoes lacked salt and cheese and were overall a B. My new steak arrived and it was extremely rare, lacking seasoning and also had no cajun crust that I ordered. The waitress ended up comping my steak. I still ended up spending $130 with tip and don't recommend Mancys to anyone looking for good food for a good price.
January 2024 follow-up: Mancys never reached out to follow up or check in after the bad experience, even after I messaged them about the experience. Mancys Findlay will not be on our...
