Stopped at Drive-Thru Window at 8:40 a.m. on a Wednesday in November. I know from experience you must get here early because they absolutely do run out of donuts - even when it was Jack's they ran out of donuts early sometimes, but rarely this early. The associate said they were out of donuts. I said, "You're out of donuts?!?!" I repeated to make sure I understood what she said and was shocked because it was still so early. Then she said the only thing left was a few peanut butter, a few [something] caramel, and donut holes. So I opted for a dozen donut holes and a large black coffee for which I paid $7.02. The coffee was hot, but bitter. I got 25 donut holes that were fine. Not melt-in-you-mouth or exceptional. Just fine. I was heading to Kroger and they're donuts would've been just as fine. Maybe the extra holes were to make up for the low level of inventory. Man, I just wanted a jelly.
I'm sad because I feel like I can't trust this place to be stocked even early in the morning; it's hit or miss. BUT when they are stocked, the more specialty donuts they serve are delicious! Hopefully they'll continue to work out the kinks of transitioning from Jack's to Boomtown, learn the rhythm of the daily demand in this area, and strive to keep stock at least thru 11am. I do like the change they made in the counter service which makes the do its easier to see for the customer.
I would recommend this place with trepidation. Good specialty donuts. Coffee is hot and okay. Go inside for clear communication. Go as soon as the doors open to ensure you get what's on hand for the day; because most of us don't plan ahead to order donuts online; we get donuts on a whim when the...
Read moreEDIT: Owner always has same excuse when a bad review is left- he checks and magically they did have donuts or they had “large” orders that day. How about you own it and acknowledge that you are not supplying and stocking properly. ALSO, yes I did see a 3rd Spanish man step out- my review was based on the 2 Spanish females in the retail area. I had no interaction with the man. NEITHER female could answer my simple question. I don’t care of their work history or if you consider them family. I live in a country where ENGLISH is the main language and I would expect a business to have their front of house workers speak and understand our language.
Stopped by today at 9 am. Couldn’t get a box of our favorites, heck I couldn’t even get single donuts. Most donuts were sold out. It wasn’t just one or two kinds. Also, big red flag when you have workers who don’t understand basic English. I tried asking if they always sell out of the good donuts by 9 am since this is not my first time stopping by and both older and younger Spanish worker couldn’t comprehend what was being asked. Older one spoke in Spanish to younger one and I repeated question to her and she just looked at me with no response. I also know you can place an order online, but I don’t want to have to place an order every time I want to grab donuts. I really wanted to support the rebrand but sadly your location needs some major...
