Mmmmm DQ

Hello everyone and welcome back to my wonderful reviews of places around the Madison area.

This time we had DQ. Actually my very pregnant wife wanted it 3 days in a row and it wasn't till the 3rd time that we remembered to take pictures.

Well where to start. I am not a huge fan of fast food in general, but I have enjoyed visiting DQ since I was a youngin.

My personal favorite has always been the chicken strip basket. I have no idea why, idc if they microwave it to get it ready it's so delicious. They are just so flavorful and you get 3 or 6 for a reasonable price. It does come with fries and toast for those who have never tried it.

One if my favorites is a marshmallow shake. No it's not on the menu and it is the best shake you could ever ask for. ❤️

Fries are just decent. Never have had that going for them when competing with Mcds or Wendys but they have so many options don't let that discourage you.

My wife likes the flamethrower 🔥 burger. She thought it was very good. It was really juicy and the perfect amount of spice to it. The bacon 🥓 on it was delicious as well. Tasted real as opposed to the fake bacon you get in fast food.

The drumstick with peanut blizzard was SOOO good and the chunks of waffle cone in it just added to its perfection. The peanuts really helped making sure it wasn't overly sweet.

We also tried the new Poolside Punch Slush and it was the perfect summer drink. It has such a surprising flavor that was yummy and it had "pretty colors" according to my wife she is going to be sad when summer is over and it's gone.

You can't miss with their hotdogs or chili dogs. Not the best in town but if you have a small child that loves hotdogs this is five star food or someone like me who a hotdog is good no matter where from.

We also tried the pretzel sticks with queso. That was so d@$% good. The pretzels are soft and chewy and the sauce is slighly spicey and delicious. It's a great snack that pairs well with this huge assortment of DQ.

Just typing this makes me hungry for it. So I think here is a good stopping point lol.

I wanted to share a recent experience I had at this DQ that left me extremely disappointed as a paying customer.

I visited drive-through to conveniently pick up a cake while my baby was in the car. When I arrived at the window, the transaction began as expected, but I was shocked when a male employee approached the cashier and made a remark, loud enough for me to hear: “God forbid this person come inside and pick up their cake.”

I immediately addressed him, letting him know I was right there and explained that I had my baby in the car and was using the drive-through for its intended purpose: convenience. Unfortunately, the situation was handled poorly from there. The cashier apologized but made an unrelated comment about the gentleman’s wife being present, which did nothing to address the rudeness I experienced.

Feeling disrespected and unwelcome, I decided to park, bring my baby inside, and return the cake I had ordered and paid for. A frustrating and unnecessary inconvenience caused entirely by the unprofessional conduct of your staff.

I want to be clear: customers should never be made to feel embarrassed or belittled for using services provided by a business, especially not while caring for a child. I left without the product I came for and will not be returning to this location because of...

So there is a line for the drive thru, as expected. There are 3 cars ahead of me with blinkers on I could see this. The line moved forward and I was looking for the car that is on the other side to cross over and take her place in line. I saw her motion something with her arms but because of the headlights of other cars, I couldn’t tell, but it looked like she was waiving me on. This clearly was NOT what she had in mind. She immediately raced up and I obviously knowing I made a mistake, I let her go through, but was still kinda stuck in the spot. So the other 2 cars raced up against me blocking all other traffic without a care in the world. They felt so strongly about this that what, you’re going to hit my car?? Beat me up?? I know I made the mistake, but the way everyone reacted was just childish!! I would expect things like this to happen out east, not Madison!!! It’s just ice cream people. You know who you are!! Maybe you should stop at Walmart on the way home so you don’t run out of diapers, cause you clearly soiled the pair you had on!! Calm down people, this is no time to be fighting over ice cream!!
